Reel To Real: Holly Golightly's Underrated But Equally Chic ...

    image

Fashion-wise, everyone loves the Breakfast at Tiffany's iconic pearls, LBD, and opera glove ensemble... right? Everyone, that is, except for those of us who found the getup a bit too demure and were much more interested in the modish, slightly boho styles Holly Golightly (Audrey Hepburn) sports for the rest of the movie: wayfarers, a mink bucket hat paired with a funky orange frock coat, and a one shoulder, floor-length sheath wrap that could have easily been interpreted on a Halston runway. What's always been interesting is that Holly is much more daring, risque, and naughty than the elegant, if not a bit boring outfit she's most remembered for implies (in Truman Capote's book, which the movie is based on, she's actually a call girl, a fact director Blake Edwards hush-hushed for gentler audiences). Check out the slideshow for a look at the Holly probably a very few of us most love, along with some pieces that channel her inimitable, less lauded style!

Those of you in Mobile, Pensacola, New Orleans and West Palm Beach, listen up. According to WeatherBill, Inc., you were the rainiest cities in the US last year with more than 63 inches of rainfall and more than 57 rainy days. But all of us, even those in America's driest cities, should have a fab little raincoat tucked away. So don't let yourself be caught unprepared. I mean, even though your rain gear may not get the same face time as say, your favorite pair of jeans, that's no excuse to use a newspaper over your head to protect you from the elements. No, when the raindrops are falling you want something as stylish as these vintage trenches. Just click the slideshow to view the selection.
