It's time to spice things up at home, and not just in the bedroom either! While we would all love to be jet-setters and fly off to exotic places halfway across the world, it is not a possibility for many of us due to money, time or both. Although the mysticism of far away lands may be enticing, but not quite within reach at the moment, these sumptuous luxuries and richly saturated materials can be brought back and enjoyed in your own home. With ethnic African and safari-inspired prints that make your living area feel like a trip to the savannah, richly saturated and beautifully decorated rugs and home accents that make you feel like you're laying back in a Persian palace, and the minimalist sophistication of Asian-inspired pieces that help give you a peaceful and meditative state, you can take a trip around the world in the comfort of your own home. Click on the slideshow to see some home decor that will add the alluring glamour of distant destinations to your living space.

Live Like A Queen (Or King) At Turkey's Mardan Palace

In Antalya, Turkey, a beautiful city surrounded by mountains that sits right on the Mediterranean coast, there lies a resort fit for a king. Mardan Palace was made for those rolling in riches, and every penny has been invested into the development of such indulgent design that its majesty defies reality. And what better a location for such a world-class resort than Antalya, a city known for its proximity to great skiing, hiking, and shipwreck exploring as well as its important role in the history of the Greek, Roman, and Ottoman empires. The hotel boasts its own coral reef and lagoon, a spa so sweet it will make you salivate, and a vast swimming pool that appears bigger in area than the resort itself. Each room caters to this marvelous location with a view of either the Mediterranean Sea, the Taurus Mountain Range, or the pool encapsulated by a series of ornamented bridges. As if the beautiful view weren't enough, guests enjoy toiletries by Hermes and a 24-hour butler service. Excursions alone could occupy your entire stay, but guests are also entertained by 24 different spots within the resort to enjoy some luxury food and libations, including one with an all vegetarian menu, one with windows made of tropical fishtanks, one within the Palace's own waterfall, and one situated on the rooftop. It's a shame I've spent most of my lifetime without having considered Turkey an instinctual travel destination: It's now reached the top of my list! Their backgrounds may not have the most seamless history, but the scarves, stoles, and neckerchiefs they design together are paving the way for a more close-knit future. Have you ever had the misfortune of sitting in the midst a heated conversation with completely opposing view points from both sides? It's enough for someone to throw in the towel and give up any hope on an agreement. All politics aside, designers Farah Malik, a Pakistani Muslim, and Dana Arbib, a Libyan Jew went against the odds with their line A Peace Treaty. Arbib and Malik met while living in Rome where they discovered they share a love for fashion and handcrafted goods. They started A Peace Treaty, a line of scarves, stoles and neckerchiefs that also creates employment for skilled artisans working in places of socio-political strife. In fact, the company travels to a different location every season so different local artisans can make their accessories. Watch the video to learn more about the designers and read on to see how you can win a scarf from their collection!
