Some of the coolest room and home decor themes are also the most minimal and deconstructed. It's a look that's hip and has just the right amount of edge for the home. There's a certain nonchalance about a place that looks great without appearing overly contrived. A half-finished, industrial style has a bad-boy appeal and is actually quite easy to achieve with just the right accents. Think metals - iron, steel, and chrome - and newer materials, like plastics and glass. With so many different types of stones and jewelry styles, we come to learn that not every look is right for us. Hot In The Hive: Spinning Bird Jewelry Stand

Let's get something straight -- I am not high maintenance. In fact, I could easily cut my getting ready time in half if I didn't ever-so-frequently end up spending 20 or more minutes untangling my jewelry from the heaping pile sitting atop my dresser. No matter how often I try to keep my accessories free and separated for easy access, there's just some freaky inanimate mutual attraction that forces all necklaces and earrings and bracelets and chains to magically knot themselves into an impossible tangled mass. The solution? A handy spinning jewelry stand, similar to those organized revolving earrings displays you see on countertops at the mall (but much cuter for your room, of course). This one is shaped like a birdcage and has plenty of holes to hang your earrings from and keep your studs, hoops, and chandeliers with their matching pair partner and away from potential tangles with other jewelry. I'd run out and buy one now if I wasn't too busy looking for that other silver hoop of mine...

Hot In The Hive: Falling Books Bookends By Art Ori

Forget dull metal bookends that serve as only functional, minus the "fun" -- your at-home library deserves a little character, whether your collection includes a fond selection of your favorite fiction or a boring set of textbooks that could use a good dose of humor. Art Ori Designs is known for its clever metal works, all featuring silhouettes of different characters that bring a little life to otherwise boring household objects like napkin holders and coin trays. Their latest addition is the Falling Books Bookend, which supports your books at an angle in a way that conceals its frame, giving the illusion that your books are about to squash the tiny figures below! But don't worry -- the frame is sturdy enough to keep the cute little guys safe, and you won't have to crane your neck quite as far to read the book titles! It comes in three different colors and two shapes -- check them out at Design My World!

    Price: $35

Easy Summer Metallics To Add Shine To Your Style

Metallics are a perfect choice for casual summer wear and the opportunities for wearing them don't have to be excluded to your nights out on the town. Today's shiny metallics are doable for both day and evening. For example, I love this J. Crew metallic pleated cotton tank that's paired effortlessly with a pair of jean shorts. It just proves that you don't need sequins or silk to give a piece some shine! Switch things up by adding sheen to your shorts, like with a pair of these linen Bermuda shorts from J. Crew, or to your sandals with these flat metallic T-straps, also from J. Crew. Click over to Coquette for more summer fashion trends!

Heavy Metal: Chain Necklaces Are Still Hot!

When it comes to jewelry, especially chains and anything with a rocker edge, I have a tendency to think more is more. Well, apparently I'm not the only one! Layered necklaces have been taken to a whole new level. Givenchy showed about a million little chain necklaces layered over a sleek pantsuit, but these necklaces don't have to be only for your goth moments-- they're perfect for spicing up a regular white t-shirt and jeans or even a prim and proper dress. Throw out the old thinking that you have to take off a piece of jewelry before you leave the house-- instead, add more! Layer on some of your own chains for a heavy metal look, or remix an old chain belt into a necklace. My absolute favorite jewelry designer, Justin Giunta for Subversive Jewelry, does chain necklaces like no one else. These messy, pre-layered necklaces are an amazing mix of chains and found objects that won't weigh you down! Check out the slideshow for options with prices ranging from budget to bank-breaking!
