Tote A Messenger Bag As Your Chic Fall Carry-All

    image

Each year, usually right before fall, I get a hankering for a new handbag, regardless of how recently I purchased my last one. They're just so fun to build outfits around and I hate to hinder my creativity, you know? Right now I'm all about messenger bags- I'm picturing one crafted out of buttery leather, maybe a tad distressed for that vintage look, and preferably in a neutral hue- chocolate brown, khaki, even dove grey would be lovely. The style is undeniably classic and yet alluring at the same time, and the brand is nowhere to be seen (with the exception of a small amount of indicative hardware, in some cases). Larger ones add a seriously urban element to business ensembles, while smaller types lend effortless appeal to androgynous and feminine styles alike. My personal favorite way to wear one of these schoolboy-esque satchels? Strapped across the body, over none other than a flouncy party dress. Bagtrends Is Loving Antoinette Lee's 'Mia' Handbag!

We're in the thick of holiday season and with the beginning of Hanukkah and Christmas, we're kicking into overdrive. Do you have your holiday bag selections ready? If you're still looking for a fun option I recommend Antoinette Lee Designs' 'Mia' Bag. 'Mia' is the cool girl in high school - not the ponytail sporting cheerleader, but the edgy fashionista who was the first to forgo scrunchy socks and move onto mini skirts and grommet-accented bags. Not your classic clutch, the egg-shaped Mia can also be worn cross-body (ideal for the downtown chic hipster attending club parties). If you're considering the black, take a second look at the shimmering navy - it has a nice pop in person and a bigger wow factor than the black. Don't worry about space - you can fit makeup, a blackberry, a small wallet and even a camera inside!

Forget virus protection- if you own a laptop, a well-designed laptop bag is the single most important accessory you can buy. Okay, I'm sort of kidding, but even so I like to think my last laptop's life was cut short by the flimsy Kate Spade tote I insisted in carrying it in and not by the bazillion songs I downloaded while in college. Anyway, laptop totes have come a long way from the cringe-worthy cases and sleeves of yesterday, and they're slowly but surely making their way into much more fashionable territory. Case in point: Acme Made's computer totes which feature padded sleeves, pockets for cords and adapters, zippered closures, and stylish leather trims. The highly functional totes can double as weekend bags when the laptop sleeve is removed, and retail anywhere from $79.99 to $359.99. But why pay full price? We're giving away a $300 Acme Made gift certificate to one lucky Hiver! Click READ MORE to find out how to enter, and check out the slideshow for our favorite Acme Made totes.
