This is a piece from my fall 2008 Film Noir collection, inspired by the 1920s film, Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.
The base of the top is black moire, wood grain print taffeta. It has antique trim sewn to the front, removed from a Victorian mourning blouse. The trim on the front is at least 100 years old or more, so please, if you need to wash it, have it cleaned by a trusted dry cleaners or hand-wash it in cold water and hang-dry. The high collar is pleated and trimmed in the front with a delicate jet appliqué which is pinned on and can be removed.
Size is approx a Medium. Bust is 35-36" around, Waist measures 30" around, but can be adjusted smaller by way of the side waist ties which knot into a bow in the back. All hems have been finished, inside seams serged and the openings are partially lined and interfaced for a quality garment.
