Mila Or Jessica: Which Star Shined Brighter At The "Extract" ...

    image

While director Mike Judge is known for catering mainly to the "manly" demographic with male-dominated masterpieces like "Beavis and Butt-Head," "King Of The Hill," and "Office Space," the ladies certainly stole the spotlight at the premiere for his latest jaded employee flick, "Extract." And while the two brunettes are surely stunning in pretty much anything they wear, their metallic minidresses definitely helped amp up the otherwise lackluster red carpet! Mila Kunis, the film's leading lady, shimmered in a Matthew Williamson dress and grey patent pumps, while "90210" star Jessica Stroup was glitzy in a gold t-shirt dress from Notte by Marchesa. While we love seeing two contrasting takes on the metallic trend -- Mila's soft pastel and Jessica's flashy edge -- we just can't have two queens of the red carpet! Vote below on which shiny ensemble was more stellar! Photo Credit: PR Photos

    image
Pauline Montupet on Mar 25, 2009 7:20 AM PDT
I€™ve never been the type to want the traditional princess wedding gown. There will be no sweetheart neckline tulle overlay dress at my wedding. Where does a girl like me go to find wedding attire, something more edgy than your run of the mill Vera Wang? Net-a-porter.com, my go to site for all things designer, has now opened its e-doors to its wedding boutique! They have your wedding day covered, stocked with everything you need as a bride, for your bridesmaid and even for the mother of the bride. Floor length Phillip Lim and Marchesa gowns that can be paired beautifully with metallic Louboutins and Phillip Crangi drop earrings that just scream chic are just some of the things you'll find, but they didn€™t stop there! They also have plenty of little naughty lingerie pieces and some great resort picks for a beach bound honeymoon. While there may not be wedding bells in my near future, I have plenty of weddings to attend- five and counting this summer! And they have that covered too. With easy navigation tabs like beach, country, day and evening, it€™s easy to find the perfect dress for any wedding you're attending. And as usual you can always call one of their fashion advisors free of charge if you have any questions or simply need some extra help. Click the slideshow to see more.

NYFW Backstage Beauty: How To Get The Soft, Ethereal Waves ...

    image
Sabrina Newman on Mar 15, 2009 5:19 AM PDT
The Marchesa Fall 2009 collection was inspired by the enchantment of the forest with ethereal styles in pleated tulle and silk chiffon with playful flourishes such as ruffles, sequins, and delicate lace. To enhance the fairy-tale feel, lead stylist and John Frieda Collection Creative Consultant Harry Josh drew upon the power of natural eucalyptus for style infused with vitality with a look that was polished, feminine, and just a tad bit undone with strong parts set against loose, natural waves.

Healthy hair was an essential part of making this look so breathtaking so before styling the hair Harry used John Frieda Root Awakening Shampoo, Conditioner, and Detangling Spray ($6.49 each), all of which are formulated to nourish, strengthen, and condition for healthy, shiny locks.

To recreate the healthy hair seen on the runway, blow out hair and create a severe part where hair lies best. €œUsing a curling iron slanted horizontally, manually wrap hair around the iron to create the appearance of natural waves and avoid an overly styled look,€ Josh recommends. €œBrush hair through to loosen curls, then slick down the side and secure with a bobby pin.€ Aim the bobby pin at a 45 degree angle from the outer corner of the eye for chic hold and you're all set!

    Auntbee's Holiday Wishlist Is Here!

One of our favorite fashionistas, AuntBee, has a holiday wishlist up and ready for you to covet! Leave it to AuntBee to find not one, but two ruffle tops that I simply refuse to live without - at both ends of the price spectrum - from Bill Blass's crisp white ruffle sleeveless top to Forever 21's navy dressy ruffle top. After all, a holiday season without ruffles is hardly a holiday season at all! And if you crave ruffles in the warmer months, AuntBee's got you covered, er, sort of, in Juicy Couture's Beach Ruffle Skirt Bottoms. My personal favorite on the list is the very versatile Erva Design black handbag with the adorable metallic clasp. Check out the rest of AuntBee's Holiday Wishlist and try not to drool.

Elle's Fall A to Zee Trends: Feathered Trim

Feathers are an excellent way to bring decadent colors and textures to your favorite fall fashions. Designers are adding feathers to a variety of pieces this fall, from hats and bags to shirts and even skirts. Steal some style inspiration from Her Royal Highness, the Queen of England; her always fabulous hats use feathers to make a sophisticated statement. There are also a variety of different colors, textures, and sizes of feathered trims to choose from. Create drama by layering incandescent teal peacock plumes, as they add an almost metallic quality to clothing. The soft and tawny russet of pheasant feathers also fit in perfectly with fall's rustic colors and textures. Check out Elle's A to Zee Trends to see Joe Zee's picks, and click on our SLIDESHOW to see some stunning examples of this trend, straight from the Hive.

Hive Poll: See the Emmy Awards Red Carpet Dresses and Tell ...

Is it just me, or do the Emmy Awards always seem to be over before they even begin? It makes me wonder how all of the stars find the time to get so dolled up, but year after year television's most talented don dresses and diamonds galore, and whether they take home awards or not, it is surely a memorable evening for all. But we're more interested in that unwritten category we like to call Best Dressed. Or in this case, Best Dress. You can catch all of our nominees in the SLIDESHOW, but we've narrowed it down to four, so tell us...
