Amidst all the new fall fashions this year, one store stands out among the rest of the its mall cohorts. Ann Taylor has debuted its newly redesigned collection and website. Still feminine and full of luscious fabrics and affordable, the new look has something for everyone. Need a dress that can go from the office to an nighttime event? The silk shirt dress is simply gorgeous. While still holding onto its classic style and using fall's understated jewel tones like malachite, aubergine, cranberry and more the collection has traditional items like a white dress shirt, button down shirt with french cuffs and pieces sleeveless ruffled blouses that work perfectly with jeans or a pencil skirt. Many of the items can easily go from work wear to weekend wear. Ann Taylor's newest pieces are incredibly versatile and striking. Using fabrics like silk, cashmere, Georgette and chiffon it offers impeccable lines and tailoring. Rounding out the line are leather handbags, a nice array of statement necklaces and other accessories as well as boots, pumps and other shoes that will help keep you in style through the fall and winter. The quality you have come to expect from the brand is still there too. Recession Chic: 10 Mall Store Finds That Look Way More ...

    image

I'll take shopping on Shopbop or Revolve over a trip to the mall any day, but these days, even the abundance of steep discounts and final sales (tempting, but SO unfair) can't always lure my credit card out from my wallet. But, as it turns out, mall stores are often filled with a few gems of their own- you know, those pieces that elicit remarks like "you got that where?!" from friends and strangers alike. Case in point- my worn leather bomber jacket from Zara has been mistaken for a Mike & Chris on more than one occasion! And trust me, walking out of the mall with even just one or two of these new favorite items can feel just as good (if not better!) than ordering a similar piece from a designer boutique, especially if you consider you spent so much less, and when it comes down to it, most people won't even know the difference, as long as the item in question isn't a blatant knockoff (Forever 21, are you listening?). Remember that quality accessories can really pull together any outfit, so when it comes to saving and splurging, spend your money where it counts, i.e. not on that $85 Kain pocket tee that Express makes in better colors anyway for a whopping $24.50. I've searched the web for 10 pieces that look the part, but have almost shockingly low price tags. Click the slideshow to see them all!
