Goodbye Lauren Conrad, Hello Pretty Blue Dresses!

    image
Natalie Zee Drieu on Jul 22, 2009 5:23 AM PDT
When technology breaks down like my laptop did last week, I realized I had more downtime so I could finally finish up my DVR recordings of "The Hills." As much as the show annoys me and I know it's not real, I can't stop watching -- it's my guilty pleasure! Anyway, In her "Hills" goodbye episode, Lauren Conrad wears this adorable blue Valentino dress. Although the dress itself is cute, what really caught my eye was how stunning the shade of blue is. I have a feeling we'll be seeing more of this rich, versatile color. Some of my favorite dress picks in this particular shade include the Fiumicelli Reversible Cami dress, the Loeffler Randall pocket dress, and this Laila Azhar one-shoulder dress, all available at Shopbop!

Stylehive's Stylescopes Bring Out Your Sense Of Adventure, ...

Last winter and spring, we saw belted trenches all over the place, and we were definitely diggin' the Sherlock-Holmes-gone-chic look. Rather than going out of style or retiring to the closet hangers due to the passing seasons, the khaki hues and cinched coats have instead been modified to adapt to the warm weather, bringing a bevy of new styles that are more reminiscent of a stylish safari chick than an undercover sleuth. Whether or not you're actually as adventurous as these savannah-inspired styles might suggest, you don't have to be Indiana Jones' new sidekick-in-training to rock the summery safari look -- it's simply written in the stars! Tauruses can add shape to their waist with a breathable belted cotton vest and Pisces ladies will feel breezy in a posh pair of long khaki shorts. Coquette Says Gimme Shoes!

When I lived near Hayes Valley in San Francisco, I used to get off the bus a few stops ahead just so I could wander down Hayes Street and browse around at one of my favorite shoe stores, Gimme Shoes. It was a little happy place for me to just be around all these beautiful shoes, even if I hadn't exactly left room in the budget for an additional pair or two. I'm happy to report that they now have everything online so even if you aren't in San Francisco, you can still shop their extensive and stylish collection! If you are in or around San Francisco, check out their two store locations -- 416 Hayes Street and 2358 Fillmore Street -- to see all the stunning shoes in person! Some of my current favorites are the Loeffler Randall bootie ($578), the Coclico peep-toes ($320), and these ruffled Rachel Comey open-toe heels ($310). When you're finished browsing the covetable collection, click on over to Coquette for more splurge-worthy fashion finds!

Rock a Little Red Dress Like Sienna Miller

    image

At the New York premiere of The Mysteries of Pittsburgh, fashion trend-setter extraordinaire Sienna Miller showcased a sleek, sophisticated style that was still undeniably sexy. Sienna looked absolutely radiant in a ravishing red dress by Marios Schwab which looked especially sizzling with her matching red pout. She completed her look with Roger Vivier black pumps and opaque tights, leaving the accessories at home and letting this standout dress do all the talking. The LRD (little red dress) is a fabulous alternative to the classic LBD, especially for a night when you wanna get in touch with your inner sexy siren. The key to rocking this style is to keep it minimal, like Sienna, and balance out the inherent sex appeal of the look with more pared down accessories. Photo credit: PR Photos

Get Lauren Conrad's Breezy, Chic Springtime Style!

At The Richie-Madden Children's Foundation and Sony Cierge fundraiser event, reality darling Lauren Conrad stepped out to show her support showcasing a fabulous spring-time style that was fun and fashion-forward but still stayed true to her signature California-cool style. Lauren kept her look simple but a little bit off-beat chic wearing a billowy Chelsea Flower top paired with slouchy black shorts by Loeffler Randall-- I'm totally loving shorts as an alternative to the mini skirt for a night-time look. She rounded out the mix with a pair of Christian Louboutin peep-toe pumps, a sleek black clutch, a totally glam silver necklace and a braided headband that gave the look a fantastic boho twist. Check out my slideshow to get the look!
