90210 actress AnnaLynne McCord collected kisses for the troops today as part of a Cosmopolitan and Maybelline New York Veteran's Day benefit event. Maybelline and Cosmo are donating $1 to the USO for each kiss collected between 7 AM and 7 PM in an attempt to set a new record for the number of kiss-stamped postcards to be sent overseas! If you're in the NYC area, catch the Cosmo vehicle and they'll provide you with their new ColorSensational lipstick, a postcard, and the opportunity to write a message. The postcards will then be delivered to military bases overseas on New Year's Eve, so the troops will get kisses at midnight! Click over to Cosmo to see the list of locations where you can participate, and you'll get to try a new product and brighten someone's day in the process.

Lancome, Urban Decay, And More Of Your Favorite Makeup Brands ...

Using beauty products may not be the most environmentally harmful part of your daily routine (well, unless of course you're addicted to hairspray), but if you're into going the natural route for the sake of saving your skin and the planet, you're certainly not the only one! Lucky for us eco-conscious makeup mavens, some of our favorite beauty brands have jumped on the green bandwagon and made natural, organic, and eco-chic versions of their popular products. For example, Lancome's Juicy Tubes Pure are just like the old favorite, but this time with 95% natural ingredients! And Urban Decay's shadow box packs 10 of their favorite shadows into a sustainable wooden box complete with a cruelty-free eyeshadow brush. I won't be dramatic and say that a few coats of organic mascara will save the world, but hey -- every little gesture counts! Take a browse through the slideshow to see which big-name brands have gone natural!

Pump Up Your Beauty Regime With Plum Makeup Shades

Plum, aubergine, eggplant... what is it about the dusky purple shade that conjures up thoughts of fall? Well, whatever the reason, it's time to embrace it -- beauty trends for the upcoming autumn months are all about going plummy with your eyes, lips, and cheeks for a sultry yet sophisticated seasonal look. But before you raise an eyebrow at the thought of your grandmother's purple eyeshadow, you should know that these products are anything but retro-tacky! Update a smoky eye with a color-coordinated Stila eyeshadow quad in Montemarte, finished off with Urban Decay's Ink For Eyes in Empire. The contrasting color works wonders in bringing out the gold flecks in your eyes. And if you're all about the flushed cheeks, take your rosy glow up a notch on the color spectrum with Clinique blush in Plum Gorgeous. Scroll through the slideshow for my favorite plum products!

Hot In The Hive: Clinique Vitamin C Lip Smoothies

One of the beauty world's biggest frustrations (other than, you know, constantly having to shave your legs and pluck your eyebrows), is the concept of products made to look, smell, and sound good enough to eat... but actually aren't edible. What a tease! In fact, one of my friends learned the hard way that the Body Shop's Nut Butter lotion really doesn't taste as good as the name and scent implies. What makes the Clinique Vitamin C Lip Smoothies slightly more tolerable than other hunger-inducing beauty products, however, despite my sudden urge to hop over to the corner Jamba Juice, is that the brush-on lip color actually contains all the moisturizing properties and conditioning antioxidants of a hydrating smoothie without the sticky-sweet fruit flavoring that would normally tempt you to lick it off your lips all day long. True, I'd have an easier time curbing my hunger pangs if the bright shades were named after inedible flowers instead of juicy just-ripened fruit, but at least I'm not tempted to eat it instead of wear it!

    Price: $17.50

Although everyone's schedule is unique, we can all agree that they're busy and hectic and chock full of errands and deadlines. Rushing around and trying to accomplish ten things at once can make it hard to find time to always look our best, or at least look pulled together and in control. Planet alignment shows it being an extra hectic week, with school sessions just starting, seasons changing, and 101 work and social activities to tend to. In a busy world like ours, it's hard to find time to always have on a full face of make-up before we venture out to do anything. And honestly, a fully painted face is just too much sometimes and should be reserved for special occasions and wild nights out. Let the stars guide you to your one must-have beauty product that will keep you looking fresh and ready and perfectly appropriate for whatever life throws at you this week! Scorpios, a little red lipstick will add some va-va-voom to your day. Leos, play up those flashing eyes with dramatic mascara! Check out the slideshow to see what the stars have chosen as your go-to beauty product for when you're on the go!

Which Emmy Awards Actress Did The Matte Makeup Look Best?

    image

When the phrase "award show" is mentioned, things that usually come to mind in the realm of beauty are "dramatic," "high-impact" and "come-hither." You think plump red lips, rosy cheeks, heavy eyeliner, fluttering lashes... Okay, maybe I'm thinking Old Hollywood, but still, the stereotype is often still expected on big-night red carpet events like the Emmys. However, a celeb photo hound like myself couldn't help but notice the prevalence of neutral matte lips at last Sunday's fete, from drama queen January Jones' semi-sheer coral hue to funny gal Alyson Hannigan's peachy nude. Who knew that understated barely-there shades would be the key to shaking things up on TV's biggest night? Whether these downplayed lip shades served to help balance other features like Mila Kunis' smoky eyes, or simply matched an overall style like Kim Kardashian's sexy ice princess look, these TV sirens proved you don't need bold color or high shine to be a winner in our beauty book! Vote below on who you think looked best in her matte lipcolor. Photo Credit: PR Photos
