Welcome to the Jungle: Animal Prints Inspired By Dolce & Gabbana

Animal prints have been around forever, since the near beginning of time. So it's not surprising that that they come back in fashion periodically. From leopard print to zebra prints -- you name it -- everything from the jungle will be welcomed this fall. Dolce & Gabbana have always been a huge fan of this wild style, making it their signature, and this fall other designers like Phillip Lim and Oscar de la Renta are embracing it as well. From realistic to abstract versions of the prints, they are everywhere and they're a bold way to add to some punch, pattern and texture to any outfit. Feeling risky? Go for a head to toe look inspired by the Dolce & Gabbana runway and pair a tastefully sexy leopard pencil skirt like the Mirror & Dash Leopard Skirt from Urban Outfitters with a Torn by Ronny Kobo bold shouldered long sleeve top. The different scaled prints and covered up shoulders make the look work, and at a fraction of the cost of the runway look! If a head-to-toe animal print is too much for you, try wearing an animal print top or shoe. Check out the slidshow to see ways to get wild with animal prints.

Pixelated Prints Are Taking Geek Chic To A Whole New Level!

No matter how much you try to keep your inner nerdiness and Facebook addiction on the down-low, we are living in a digital age, so it's about time you openly embrace it -- in and out of the closet! While all this fuss about portable HD camcorders and YouTube videos and TV channels may make pixelated images a thing of the distant past (reserved for old school Pac Man machines), digital prints are making a comeback in the form of clothing and accessories! This Pixelated Stretch Dress by Nicole Miller is perfect for the computer nerd who really knows how to clean up, and this Pixel Flower Necklace will have you rubbing your eyes in confusion... in a good way! Take a look at the slideshow for some of my favorite pixelated prints that will play all sorts of geeky tricks on your eyes.

CollegeCandy Wish List: Roxy Dandy Lion Bag

Cute bathing suit? Check. Sunscreen? Check. Awesomely colorful beach bag? Hmm... maybe not yet. Well, Roxy is here to save the day with its cleverly named bag, Dandy Lion. The bag is made of durable cotton canvas, and its wide platform bottom makes storing your large beach towels a breeze. It has a back wall zip pocket and a slip pocket for your small items (so your cell phone and iPod don't get lost in the shuffle) and a magnetic snap closure to keep everything secure. The bag is lightweight and big enough to carry your sunglasses, wallet, change of clothing, and all your other beach essentials (like, I don't know, snacks?). Personally, I'm all about the animal print bag in black. It's bright, striking, and screams "have fun with fashion " It also screams "don't worry about spilling sunscreen/margaritas all over me, because I'm totally affordable and you can throw me right into the washing machine." More great beach days, here I come! Check out the CollegeCandy blog for more of the season's must-have shopping picks!

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week SWIM Runway: Cia Maritima

Well, if someone's gotta bring the Latin flavor to the Mercedes Benz SWIM runway, it might as well be Brazilian beachwear designer Cia.Maritima! The show started off relatively slow, giving us a glimpse of some undoubtedly unique watercolor animal prints that put a soft spin on a traditionally wild design. Things slowly began to simmer with the introduction of boldly printed string bikinis and then reached an eventual boiling point with the parade of dare-to-bare cutout bikinis and structured monokinis that left everyone feeling hot, hot, hot! It wasn't all about the skin-baring ensembles though- the designer wowed with an impressive array of sheer and Grecian-inspired caftans and cover ups, and the details weren't to be missed either- the bold cuffs and strappy arm embellishments were just as alluring. Stylehive's Stylescopes Bring Out Your Sense Of Adventure, ...

Last winter and spring, we saw belted trenches all over the place, and we were definitely diggin' the Sherlock-Holmes-gone-chic look. Rather than going out of style or retiring to the closet hangers due to the passing seasons, the khaki hues and cinched coats have instead been modified to adapt to the warm weather, bringing a bevy of new styles that are more reminiscent of a stylish safari chick than an undercover sleuth. Whether or not you're actually as adventurous as these savannah-inspired styles might suggest, you don't have to be Indiana Jones' new sidekick-in-training to rock the summery safari look -- it's simply written in the stars! Tauruses can add shape to their waist with a breathable belted cotton vest and Pisces ladies will feel breezy in a posh pair of long khaki shorts. Browse the slideshow for your sign and see how you're destined to dress this week!

Bring Out Your Wild Side With Help From Stylehive's Stylescopes!

In preparation for spring, we were all about the festive egg-dye pastels and quintessential floral prints, but now that the Easter bunny has come and gone, we at Stylehive are looking for fashion inspiration from some much more stylish critters. Animal print may scare off some traditionally demure girls who have always written off zebra, leopard, giraffe, and boa as patterns suited only for the tacky and fashionably loud and best left on the African Savannah, but the celestial spirits are here to prove that wild prints can be both sophisticated and sexy! For example, Virgos can look forward to brightening things up in an eye-popping orange leopard tank, while Aries girls will keep it subtle and classy in a printed party dress! Whether you're destined to sport stripes, spots, or scales, you're bound to look hot while walking on the wild side this week! Check out the slideshow to see what kind of animal print best suits your sign!
