Add Some Shape With A Tulip Skirt!

A lot of brands and designers have been embracing the curves of women with larger hips, and although I think it's great for fashionable clothing to be available for women of all shapes and sizes, what if you have the opposite problem of hips that are too slender or don't help to define your waistline? Tulip skirts are a great way to add a bit of shape and volume to the hip area, perfect for women who struggle with square or small hips. They also help make the legs look longer, and they have a bit of a princess quality about them. Tulip skirts are pretty and feminine, and can really help create the shape you want if you usually have trouble wearing short skirts. I love this satin pleated tulip skirt from Arden B. -- it comes in several colors, and it's only $44. It even has pockets!

For those of us Stylehivers in the northern hemisphere, cooler temperatures will quickly be arriving. For practical purposes, that means that bare legs will also soon become a distant memory. That doesn't mean you need to relegate your legs to a dull wardrobe of solid gray, black, white or brown tights, though. There are many exciting and fashionable patterns available to keep things interesting even if the weather outside is dark and dingy. Some are even conservative enough for the office. Check out my slideshow to find your favorite pattern for your chilly gams!

Hive 5: This Summer Go Naked!

No, I'm not talking about indecent exposure here - nude shoes are what I'm after! Not only do skin-toned kicks come in a wide variety of heights and styles, but they can be paired with virtually any outfit! The celebs caught on early. Remember Angelina Jolie's nude flats that she wore with dark skirts and slacks? How about Christina Aguilera's Christian Louboutin patent platform pumps on the red carpet? Oh, and who could forget those tattered ballet flats Amy Winehouse refused to part with for months on end!? Yes, trends may come and go, but I'm convinced that nude shoes are here for the long run. Not only is this style versatile, but figure flattering too. The neutral skin-tone has an elongating effect, giving legs a (much appreciated) "never ending" appearance. The Hive is full of nudies. Check out my slideshow for five of my faves.
