In the words eternalized by the King of Rock-n-Roll himself, Elvis Presley: Don't you step on my blue suede shoes!
This recent shoe trend is taking over by storm, from menswear inspired oxfords, to sexy stiletto pumps and we must admit. Here at Stylehive, we love it! Dark blue suede is a modern and edgy way to add a little color to your wardrobe without looking like a Crayola fun-box (has anyone seen Rihanna's hair recently?)! Something about it's color and luxe fabrication makes blue suede a versatile neutral that looks great with a number of colors and pieces already in your wardrobe and is an easy way to add some style to any ensemble. And not only are we loving the blue suede shoe trend, but we love the stormy-hued soft leather look so much, that we've ventured out into blue suede handbag and apparel territory! A blue suede handbag or garment is a great fashion piece on it's own, and looks sophisticated and classy when you play matchy-matchy with another blue suede piece. Just the right amounts of classic chic and modern edginess, a blue suede something is a must-try for this season! Ready to add some blue suede style to your look? I'm not exactly sure who this 'La Victoire' is, but she is one lucky girl. French shoe label, Pour La Victoire, by shoe designer David Giordano, features a selection of pumps, wedges, boots and other stiletto-ed beauties (and a few flats) that can only be described as burlesque beauty meets daring diva. There new F/W 2010 Collection consists of the sexiest over-the-knee (OTK) and ankle boots, as well spiky stiletto pumps and other amazingly sexy and gorgeous cooler-weather footwear. High quality leathers are used and embellished with seductive fold overs, Victorian-inspired buttons and lace and corset-like lacing and straps and given a contemporary touch with studs and metallic details. Also definitely worth checking out is their bridal collection which is a lot more than your usual white satin pumps affair and less traditional and "here comes the bride", unless of course the bride is Carrie Bradshaw or Dita Von Teese. Smooth satins in beautifully saturated hues, as well as traditional creams and silvers, are made spectacular and one-of-a-kind with cascading ruffles, glittering crystals, and sweet pearls and lace. The overall aesthetic is much more of a sensual boudoir coquette than blushing bride, making the Pour La Victoire Bridal Collection appropriate for any time you wanna really strut your stuff in something beautifully come-hither and unique. So whether you're looking for some luxurious winter footwear, or to add a killer pair of heels to your collection, just click on the slideshow to see some of my favorites, whether you're this mysterious "La Victoire" or not!
