    Get Sienna Miller's Rocker-Chic Look

    image
Sabrina Newman on Jul 14, 2009 8:25 AM PDT
For a charity event in London, fashion heavy-hitter Sienna Miller rocked a daring, disheveled, rocker-chic style that had fabulous written all over it. Never one to shy away from taking a fashion risk, Sienna showed a bit of skin wearing a sequined vest as a top under a studded Temperley London blazer paired with faded low-rise jeans. She kept on with the rocker motif in the footwear department with a pair of Alejandro Ingelmo metallic woven slingbacks and completed her fierce look with a sleek black Romanek clutch. Each piece in this amazing look is simply to-die-for and can create countless killer ensembles. Check out my slideshow to get the look!

Good Girl Gone Bad: 10 Floral Looks That Aren't Quite So Nice

    image

If you don't pay much attention to fashion, certain trends can appear confusing. That floral dress/leather jacket combo? Cute, but misleading. Sure, floral dresses are feminine and dainty, but leather jackets send forth an entirely different message, and so the untrained eye is left wondering just what was going through your head when you got dressed, which could be any of the following:

    a) You feel the need to wear elements that together create juxtaposition.
    b) You don't want to look too sweet or too tough, so you combine the two and look confused.
    c) You were cold.

Or maybe it's none of the above and I just completely over-analyzed the entire scenario (oops). But given that unexpected pairings are what make fashion so captivating, there's nothing wrong with sending a totally confusing, what-on-earth-is-she-wearing message from time to time, and with all of these embellished floral pieces I've been seeing, sending that message is easier and more stylish than ever-- think studs, zippers, chains, and buckles wreaking all sorts of havoc on the sweetest of florals. Rag & Bone's Spring/Summer 2009 collection said it best with a black leather/silk floral sheath dress that was equal parts feminine and fierce. Click on the slideshow for 10 more floral pieces that aren't interested in playing nice.

Girls' night out coming up? Hooray! Get ready for some good old-fashioned gossip, strong mixed drinks (mojitos or caipirinhas are mine for this season!) and a fabulous night out with your best friends. I love to up my fashion ante, especially when it's just the girls. It might be time to finally spring for the uber-cute Marc Jacobs "Love Story" clutch, which would be perfect with this Black Halo Cold Shoulder Minidress! Or I could go for a pop of bright with this gorgeous silk satin "Fiore" clutch from J. Crew with the adorable Rachel Pally "Carmela" dress. Check out my slideshow for lots of other cute girls' night out options!

Style Notes: Summer Music Festival Outfit Ideas!

To me, the sweet smell of summer is synonymous with outdoor concerts and festivals. My hometown of Chicago never disappoints with a positively booked calendar from mid-May until late September. So, next question, obviously: what should I wear? I've gotten this down to somewhat of a science. First, make sure you choose fabrics that breathe and will not leave weird tan lines. Second, try dancing. Are you comfortable, or are you readjusting? If you find yourself pulling at your clothes, move on to something more simple. Third, are you comfortable? Then go! I love to go with a cotton jersey or linen dress, or mid or Bermuda length jean shorts with a cute sleeveless top, like this Free People Rebecca tunic. I'm definitely picking up the Dolce Vita Camden dress for this summer - comfortable and classic! Check out my slideshow for some great summer concert style ideas!

Confession- I probably spend more time clicking through Shopbop than I spend "reading" my favorite fashion magazines. It's easy to see why- between the incredible styling, constantly updated selection, and my personal favorite, the lookbook, it's a one stop shop for all of your style needs, wants, and dreams. And right now, I'm needing, wanting, and dreaming about SPRING! Shopbop sent us an exclusive sneak peek at their spring preview styles and I'm smitten- flowy florals, edgy knits, hippie-inspired accessories, and sunshine brights are just the thing to pull me out from under the pile of grey and black I've been living in all winter.
