Get Rich With Joyrich At Karmaloop This Fall

    image
Karmaloop Goodkarma on Aug 13, 2009 4:23 PM PDT
Joyrich's dope new Fall collection is now available at Karmaloop.com! Supporting the image of being casual and laid-back but yet posh and luxurious, the LA-based label has been designed to promote a lifestyle that is rich in content. The collection intertwines high-end apparel techniques with contemporary street casual fabrics and fits, delivering influential '90s styles like the classic acid washed denim and the multi-faceted varsity jackets. The most appealing aspect of this collection is that it was created to be accessibly worn on or off the runway, producing a smart balance between both the men and women's line. Not to mention, an impressive collaboration with designer extraordinaire, Brian Lichtenberg - the two labels have come together to produce clean and form fitting tees, like The BL x Joyrich Tee. Joyrich's super hip mixture of clothing carries a fresh energy and contemporary chic appeal, which is very much reflected in all of its pieces. For other styles, check out the slideshow and Karmaloop.com.

Stock Up On Tarina Tarantino's City Girls Collection ...

Jewelry is a girl's best friend. With that in mind, I have completely indulged in Tarina Tarantino's "City Girls" collection. This summer, the L.A.-based accessories and jewelry designer introduces her new collection. Inspired by her favorite cities around the world, Tarina has created an iconic girl who represents the essence of the city and the chic women who live there. The first to launch is Los Angeles, Tarina's favorite city in the world and the place she calls home, and they're now available at Karmaloop.com. The L.A. City Girl grew up on the east side, shops on Melrose and hangs out in Hollywood. Taking inspiration from all over the City of Angels, this girl wears a thick sleeve of LA tattoos up along her arm. Sugar skulls from the day of the dead celebration on Olvera Street appear on new stones, while the roses from Pasadena highlight necklaces and earrings. The muted palate of grays, gold, silver, black and white from old Hollywood films all inspire the colors and Swarovski crystals used in this collection. Tarina's collection is baroque, ornate and full of special details, reflecting her famous sparkling and colorful creations. My favorite pieces are the long multibead locket necklace in gold, the cast metal hollowpoint bullet bead necklace in gold and the metallic bead and crystal stretch bracelet. Check out the rest of the collection at Karmaloop.com.

Boutique Hotel Maison 140- A Taste Of Europe In Beverly Hills

As soon as I can afford to take a shopping trip to Beverly Hills, I know I will definitely stay at the Maison 140. Located within walking distance from some of the best shopping in the world, Maison 140's screams Latin Quarter Paris. Interior designer Kelly Wearstler took the original building, owned by 1930s silent film star Lilian Gesh, and turned it into a 19th century Parisian bordello. Black hallways, mirrored dressers and the scarlet and crimson lobby set the tone. Each floor has a different color scheme, and rooms offer one-of-a-kind antique furniture. Check out the slideshow for a taste of Maison 140!

Escape To A Parallel Universe At LA's Newly Redesigned ...

Embark on an ultra-glamorous getaway to the Mondrian Hotel located in the heart of Los Angeles. This newly re-designed City of Angels hotspot is not only a home away from home for the hippest of jet setters, but its trendy Sky Bar has even the locals flocking through its edgy "parallel universe" themed lobby doors. The newly re-done boutique hotel truly captures the excitement of the city with quirky furniture, offbeat colors, and inspiration from Los Angeles' natural scenery and skyline. On-site fusion restaurant Asia de Cuba combines Asian flavors and Latino spice with eclectic decor. Giant terracotta pots create an Alice in Wonderland effect surrounding the restaurant's outdoor tables, and its white-on-white interior is chic and spaceship-like all at once. For night time entertainment look no further than up, to the smoking hot Sky Bar perched atop the hotel. The "floating" Sky Bar's night scene looks straight out of an episode of The Hills, complete with pool, lounge furniture, and the twinkling LA skyline. The cool vibe continues in the Mondrian's 237 guest rooms and suites, all of which are filled with sustainable bamboo floors and a decor scheme that can only be described as surrealism meets Hollywood glamour. So the next time you are looking to escape in a major way, book a room at the Mondrian Hotel, and get ready to dine, party, and sleep in style. Check out my SLIDESHOW to learn even more about the Mondrian Hotel.

LA Fashion Week: Ooh La La! Samora Sends Us Swooning

    image

If Holly Golightly had divided her time between New York and Paris, then the clothes from designer Samora Olayan would be perfect for all her Parisian getaways. It was hard to miss the giant Eiffel Tower backdrop and pink bicycle with flowers in the basket at the beginning of her runway show at Mercedes-Benz LA Fashion Week. With that in mind, Samora definitely captured the essence of the carefree Paris all of us would love to have in our day to day lives. Romantic ruffles were everywhere to be seen on the runway from the necklines, waistlines, and hemlines! Mint green, pink, white, and black were the colors of choice in light and airy (sometimes sheer!) fabrics. Another trend to be aware of for Spring 2009 are lady-like wrist length and half gloves. From cocktail dresses to separates, take a look at my SLIDESHOW to see what you should wear to your garden parties next spring.

LA Fashion Week: Crispin & Basilio's Dreamy Spring Collection

Crispin & Basilio€™s Spring 2009 Collection walked out of a cloud and onto a runway. The heavenly designs, in creme and taupes, silks and satins, waltzed and sauntered down the runway. Sheer, draping fabrics, in day and evening looks, weren€™t just the stuff of imagination: these fashions are real and accessible to daily wear. One of our favorite day looks was a simple taupe cardigan over a lightly-sequined off-white skirt. The effect was glamour without the fuss. The charming sophistication of the entire line is a clear signal that Crispin & Basilio is here to stay with easy elegance. Check out our SLIDESHOW for our favorite looks from Crispin & Basilio at Mercedes Benz LA Fashion Week!
