Hive 5: Prep School Argyle Goes Glam This Fall

There is nothing revolutionary about sporting argyle apparel come fall. After all, the vertical diamond print is virtually synonymous with prep school style. But this fall brings a new generation of argyle. Say sayonara to the subdued and hello to the brilliant. Bold and colorful diamonds are popping up on knitwear seemingly everywhere, and the result is a fun and flirty take on the classic fall pattern. Gossip Girl may have popularized the look, but you don't have to have a Park Avenue address to pull off this print! The Hive is full of colorful, preppy, and affordable (!!!) argyles just in time for fall. Check them out, and also click on my SLIDESHOW to see five of my favorite awesomely argyle pieces for fall!

Hive 5: Retro Roller Rink Looks

As a kid, a trip to the roller rink meant two things: an excuse to eat Now 'N Laters (stashed in my fanny pack, no less) and the unavoidable counting of the bruises upon returning home from hours upon hours of making friends with the pavement. Nowadays, it's taken on a different meaning as the perfect setting for getting decked out in all of those quirky, retro little pieces you can't seem to get away with anywhere else. Had to have those sequined shorts for a reason, didn't you? Show them off along with your moves as you make your way around the rink, or bring back the 80s with an off-the-shoulder sweatshirt top for the ultimate in casual cool. Either way, you can't go wrong, and at the very least, you'll be remembered for something other than the time you spent hugging the floor. Check out my SLIDESHOW for five roller rink-ready looks!
