The Hottest Over-The-Knee Boots For Fall

    image
Amber Fijolek on Oct 19, 2009 10:17 AM PDT
So what if you're not Sienna, Paris, Gwen, Heidi, or Hayden? You can look just as hot by scaling your stems like they do with the tallest pair of boots you can find. Whether you're sporting a short skirt or a pair of skinny jeans, some over-the-knees or thigh highs are the perfect way to warm your legs this fall. Although our budgets couldn't get us the same shoes that our favorite celebrities rock, it's still possible to get this look that's become trademark of some of our favorite female stars. Unlike our cowboy and ankle boots, these boots are capable of flashing an intriguing slice of skin when paired with short bottoms-- and showing less skin can often be sexier as it leaves the curves of your legs to the viewer's imagination. However, like our other closet companions, you can make a casual or formal step in tall flat boots or a high-heeled pair. Find a look that works for you in the slideshow!

Go Wild With A Faux Fur Vest This Fall!

My favorite boho-chic models and celebs like Kate Moss, Sienna Miller and of course Rachel Zoe have all been seen throughout the years wearing fur vests. A fur vest is a fun trendy piece to keep around to add a little punch to an otherwise boring jeans and t-shirt outfit. I'm always tempted to buy one for myself, but I'm skeptical about the vest making me look chic rather than like a bulky Eskimo. It also doesn't help that I don't agree with buying fur when plenty of faux fur options are available. So I got to searching for animal and cruelty-free fur vests that look like the real deal and found tons at every price point. Trust Urban Outfitters to have a super shaggy fur vest for only $88. If you're looking to splurge, go for the Gryphon Rocker Vest with eye-catching metallic beading at the neckline. For more faux fur vests, check out my slideshow!

My Sugarland: Your One-Stop Destination For UK Designers!

Why is it that Brits always seem to have it better when it comes to fashion? Maybe it's just that they have a much cooler and edgier selection of designers and boutiques. The boutique My Sugarland, brainchild of stylist Zoe Lem, has been a favorite haunt of London's fashionistas and a mandatory stop-by every time I'm overseas. They have the best selection of hard to find Brit designers such as a PPQ, Steve J & Yoni P, and Belle Sauvage, just to name a few. Now, for all of us non-Londoners, we're in luck since they've opened the cyber doors of their online store. They have easy navigation tabs to help you find exactly what you're looking for and they offer styling tips and secrets (so maybe we do have a chance of getting that effortless Kate Moss-esque street style)! It's one seriously fashionable one-stop online shop!

Kate Moss Fall 2009 Collection Available Now At TopShop.com

The Fall/Winter 2009 Kate Moss for TopShop Collection is now available on the store's website. With the new collaboration, Moss and TopShop emphasize vintage glamour and smart, grown-up pieces. But don't worry -- there's still a rock-n-roll element to Kate Moss's collection, influenced by the best of the '60s through the '80s. Blouses and dresses in billowy chiffon are prominent, including this gorgeous Beaded Collar Swing Dress. Simple jersey tops are given a biker chick finish whether adorned with studs, beads or chain details, while eveningwear has an antique feel. Tarnished gold sequins are scattered over a maxi dress, waistcoat, and this cool Antique Sequin Bolero. Head over to Couture in the City for a run-down of some other pieces in the just-released collection!

    Vintage Fashionistas Go Boho!

First there was Boho, then Nouveau Boho, then Boho Chic, and now it's Foho. Or maybe that was Boho, then Boho Chic, and then Nouveau Boho...whatever. Add in French Bobo and a recent reference I saw to Woe-ho and it's enough to make a girl's head spin. But any way you look at it, and whatever you want to call it, women seem to love this easy-breezy style of seventies silhouettes, billowy blouses, crochet trim, soft worn-in denim and traditional embroideries. While Sienna Miller, Kate Moss and the Olsen twins might have started the craze, and others may tell you it's on the outs, I still know plenty of gals who aren't willing to give up these comfy clothes just yet. This is one style where authentic vintage clothing is way cooler than new. So just click the slideshow and go boho!

The Met Costume Institute Gala Is Tonight!

The Met Ball is tonight, and in addition to the excitement of who's wearing (and bringing) who there's the event's theme, "The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion," which explores the industry's perception of beauty and the power that models have in influencing the fashion of their generation. This year's event is chaired by Marc Jacobs, and co-chaired by Kate Moss, Justin Timberlake, and Anna Wintour, and the models and icons featured in the exhibit include Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Shalom Harlow, Kate Moss, Amber Valletta, and Iman, among others. You can see the exhibit for yourself at the Met's Tisch Galleries between May 6th and May 9th. And now for the gossip-- Karl Lagerfeld: not attending! Kate will wear Marc! Coco is *gasp* not going with Zac Posen! It's going to rain! Naomi Campbell might not show! Oh my... I must stop reading Page 6. For updates go to Modelinia!
