Vintage Fashionistas Keep It Together With Separates

    image

According to my completely unscientific poll, most fashionistas break out the vintage wear for evening. And that makes sense since anyone who follows celebrity fashion usually only gets to see their favorite stars wearing vintage on a red carpet. Who can forget Julia Roberts' stunning vintage Valentino the night she won her Oscar or Penelope Cruz accepting the award for Best Supporting Actress in a 1950s vintage Balmain masterpiece? Yes, vintage evening wear has tended to survive better through the decades than other pieces because formal affairs happen infrequently. But that doesn't mean that there aren't some plain ol' everyday vintage separates to be found. Check out this eclectic collection of tops and bottoms for vintage fashionistas. Which Brown-Eyed Beauty Has The Freshest Spring Makeup Look?

With spring romantic comedies and action-packed blockbusters hitting the theaters and the Tribeca Film Festival in full swing, it may not be awards season anymore, but that doesn't mean that the red carpet is the least bit lonely! And while the warming weather certainly has us on the lookout for flirty styles and considerably shorter hemlines waltzing down the paparazzi parade, the season has also been lending itself to refreshing beauty trends that are just as note-worthy as the shrinking ensembles (after all -- celebs always have to be ready for their close-up!). With nude and natural toned-down glossy lips, thick lashes, and edgy-yet-classy metallic liner, this season's red carpet arrivals are demonstrating that when it comes to making an attention-grabbing appearance, it's all about the eyes. For example, the effortlessly seductive Kim Kardashian looked alluring at Tribeca's "Wonderful World" premiere with lush lash extensions, and Julia Roberts' charcoal-rimmed liner brightened her pretty peepers at The Film Society's Gala Tribute. Vote below on which premiere attendee's springtime beauty regime you covet the most! Photo Credit: PR Photos

Surf Into Target For Some Tracy Feith!

    image
Lesley Scott on Apr 28, 2009 5:23 AM PDT
As a skateboarder in the early 80s, Texas-born Tracy Feith started customizing his skate threads to match his free-spirited, punk personality. He later refined his skills at art school, and ended up working in the fashion industry creating the colorful, boho-luxe vibe -- which looks as good on the beach as the red carpet -- that has since become his signature. His new limited-edition line for Target is reminiscent of 70s surf life (especially with retro-ready prices ranging from $15-$140), featuring tees, swimwear, summery separates, flowy frocks and girlie skirts in bold hues, tiered ruffles, and prints both trippy and tropical on washed-down fabrics. A black leather biker jacket tossed over a daisy-print pinafore oozes carefree style, while a number 8 muscle tee with a print skater skirt is beach party-ready. "Tracy Feith designs for women who are sophisticated and chic [like fans Julia Roberts, Kate Hudson, and Michelle Obama], but also know how to express their individuality," says Trish Adams, senior VP at Target. "His Bohemian-inspired, spirited aesthetic is a fresh take for the GO International program, providing designer fashion at guilt-free prices." Tracy Feith for Target is available starting May 17, 2009 at Target.com. Until then, make sure to check out Fashiontribes for more Spring and Summer fashion news and trends!

    Super Sexy Spy Shades

Peek-A-Boo. But, think again if you're trying to look for any games here. You mean business, and ain't nobody gonna call your bluff. If you've got the means to go incognito like the spies of the newly released movie Duplicity with Clive Owen and Julia Roberts, then you're in the market for some serious shades. Sunglasses for this type of mission follow the prototype of sleek, dark, and inconspicuous. Frames of this fit can set you back as little as a few bucks, or as much as a bill, but either way, if you've got some cards up your sleeve you don't want others seeing, your investment will be a good one with some spy-like sun protection. Sure, beach season is on the way and all, but fully clothed, sharp lookin' spies have eyes in need as well. Take a look at this slideshow featuring styles for men and women alike who have an eye for going unnoticed. How's that for some super sexy spy swag.
