    One thing that always seems to instill a little hope within me is seeing American Idol alumni actually making something of their temporary fame. It makes me think, "wow, maybe reality TV really does serve a purpose!" And what's not to like about a down-to-earth gal from Arizona with a powerhouse voice making awesome music and managing to stay classy while doing it ('cause apparently that's rare)? Jordin Sparks may only be 19, but she's already making waves with her second studio album "Battlefield" and even has a few pre-AI modeling credits under her belt. But just because the girl has gospel roots and is most known for ballads like "Tattoo" and "No Air" with Chris Brown, it doesn't mean she can't go out and have a little fun. In her latest video, "S.O.S. (Let The Music Play)," Jordin shows off her sexy side... and exposes a backstabbing boyfriend while she's at it! I recommend leaving the chain acrylic nails out of your outfit (how the heck does she text with those things on?), but you can look dance floor-ready with a shimmering sequin dress and embellished black heels like Jordin's.     At this year's Teen Choice Awards, Jordin Sparks ventured into more fashion-forward territory with an amazingly bold look that wasn't too over-the-top. Jordin wasn't afraid to stand out on the green carpet, opting for a striking blue strapless dress from Bebe which perfectly accentuated her curves. She gave the neon trend a try with a sleek bright orange clutch from Rebecca Minkoff with matching neon orange nails. She rounded out the mix with a a funky, yet still understated pair of Alexander Wang platform sandals and a gorgeous pair of glitzy earrings from Lee Angel.     Chris Brown and Rihanna walked away with the most awards at last night's American Music Awards ceremony while crowd favorites Beyonce, Coldplay and Alicia Keys performed our favorite tunes. I love listening to music, but for me, watching award ceremonies like the AMAs and the Oscars is all done in the name of fashion. I always tune in to see who rocked the red carpet and who's going to turn up on the worst dressed lists. Country singer Taylor Swift sparkled in a silver sequined one-shoulder dress while Jordin Sparks looked bright and cheery in a yellow strapless frock. Want to see for yourself?
