For Fall '09, she added some nerdy touches to her designs, including large rimmed glasses, menswear inspired pants, and boyfriend blazers that look oh-so-cool and perfect for fall.     Go Bold In Electric Blue Like Jessica Stroup

    At the Melrose Place launch party in L.A., 90210 star Jessica Stroup was definitely one of the night's standouts. Jessica wore a gorgeous electric blue cowl-neck minidress from Jenni Kayne topped off with an embellished black belt. Given the high-octane color of the dress, Jessica refrained from adding more color to the mix, opting for a sleek black Sergio Rossi clutch and a killer pair of cutout pumps. Keeping it simple with regards to accessories, she cut it off at one gorgeous cocktail ring from Siera. A slightly slouchy minidress like this one is extremely versatile- wear it as a tunic and layer it over leggings or skinny jeans for a daytime look, or pair with opaque tights, pumps, and a sharp blazer for a sophisticated day-to-night style.     NYFW Spring 2010 Backstage Beauty: Jenni Kayne

    To create the hair and makeup looks for Jenni Kayne's Spring 2010 presentation, Stila makeup artist Sara Lucero teamed up with hairstylist Ted Gibson (both representing beauty.com) and his crew to create the ultimate downtown meets uptown aesthetic. Ted created a loose, undone sort of ponytail while Sara focused on a smoldering colored smokey eye using gorgeous blue shades that radiated sensuality and sex appeal. The whole idea was to keep it cool, glam, and effortless.

    Remember when they told us that horizontal stripes made you look fat? By all means, stay AWAY from horizontal stripes! That golden fashion rule was ingrained into our style-psyche for years and years until large black and white horizontal stripes became the next big trend and everyone couldn't wait to walk around looking like pseudo-Parisians everyday, causing cravings for berets and lattes in all innocent on-lookers. The new stripe trend to hit is that of the vertical black and white stripe! Scientists are now saying that vertical stripes can be a frenemy in the "looking fat" department, but runway giants like Gucci, Herve Leger by Max Azria, and Ann Demeulemeester have all embraced the trend. I don't know about you, but I'd rather take fashion advice from the fashion experts! Black and white is a classic contrast combination and is only punched up more by the visually exciting look of vertical stripes. The pattern is versatile and looks great in a lightweight wool for a structured blazer, or a gauzy chiffon for a flirty yet sophisticated day-to-night dress. Vertical stripes are also great for elongating the figure and can make legs look like they go on forever! The trick is to not wear super thin vertical stripes close together. This will cause a visual sensory overload and you run the risk of looking like a wobbly optical illusion. Stripes in varying widths is the most flattering such as wide black stripes and thin white ones for example, or look for stripes that have a slight diagonal tilt to it. If you like what you see but want to take it for a test-drive first, opt for accessories like bags, scarves or hats that feature the vertical stripe pattern. Really be a trendsetter and try vertical stripes with this spring's pop citrus colors!

    Get Kristen Bell's Edgy-Femme Look

    It looks like some of the on-set styles are rubbing off on Gossip Girl narrator Kristen Bell, who has been getting increasingly more fashionable these days! For an LA screening of her film Fanboys, Kristen really got in touch with her inner style-setter, mixing and matching for a super chic look that infused the perfect dose of edge to a flirty and femme look. The petite starlet paired a printed white mini skirt with a simple gray tank which she topped off with a fantastic cropped leather jacket- all from Jenni Kayne. She finished off the look with a killer pair of Jimmy Choo sandals, a sleek Kotur clutch, Amrapali bracelets, and a large Bochic cocktail ring. My favorite part about this look is that while everything works perfectly together, each individual piece is so beyond fabulous on its own and can be used to up the chic quotient of any ensemble.

    Style Steal: Rock the Neon and Neutral Trend Like Kristen Bell!

    She may be petite, but Kristen Bell sure knows how to pack a lot of punch when she hits the red carpet, or blue carpet in this case. At the Teen Choice Awards, Kristen's fashion-forward, enviably chic style rendered her look one of my favorites of the night. Kristen was a true testament to the fabulousness of the neon and neutral trend by pairing a nude silk tank with a high-waisted fuchsia silk organza miniskirt- both from the Jenni Kayne Resort 2009 Collection. The outfit was incredible on its own, so the amazing accessories she chose, including an Amrapali long beaded turquoise, onyx, and mother of pearl necklace, nude pumps and a dark brown clutch- both by Jimmy Choo- took it to a whole new level!
