Brrr! It's winter and if you're anything like me, you've forgotten just how cold these next few months can ge. While winter means holiday cheer, thermal long johns and hot cocoa, it also means icy snow, frost-tinged temperatures and higher heating bills. Fend off the chill with warm and cozy accents around the house that are cute, comfy and keep you snug as a bug in a rug! A few choice pieces transform your home into a winter haven that you'll never want to leave! As much as I like the more edgy take on fashion these days, it's all about comfort and relaxation for me when it comes to my home. So while I may don some leather leggings and fingerless gloves, I want to be able to return home and breathe a sigh of relief, curl up and be comfortable. Overstuffed furniture, wicker accents and countryside-inspired prints and florals are reminiscent of a cozy house and home style. So while mom can't be there everyday whipping up her famous chicken noodle soup and green bean casserole, you can add a few things around the house that give you that warm, fuzzy feeling inside. Check out the slideshow for some easy ideas on how to make your living space country chic and comfortable!

Make A Bold Statement With Colorblock Home Decor

The colorblock craze is one that I like very much. There is nothing more sophisticated than that classic combo of black and white. Bright, solid hues matched with black or each other make for an eye-catching and fashionable ensemble. It's such an easy and appealing way to add interest and color, it's a wonder that it hasn't caught on in home decor as well. Be a trend-setter and apply this tried and true style statement to your home. You can choose a few of your favorite colors and use them in a number of accents. Throw pillows and rugs are an easy way to go and make boring rooms more colorful and energetic. Items like placemats and shower curtains are also fun and easy ways to spruce up your living space and give your home a harmonious theme without having to spend too much! It's time to spice things up at home, and not just in the bedroom either! While we would all love to be jet-setters and fly off to exotic places halfway across the world, it is not a possibility for many of us due to money, time or both. Although the mysticism of far away lands may be enticing, but not quite within reach at the moment, these sumptuous luxuries and richly saturated materials can be brought back and enjoyed in your own home. With ethnic African and safari-inspired prints that make your living area feel like a trip to the savannah, richly saturated and beautifully decorated rugs and home accents that make you feel like you're laying back in a Persian palace, and the minimalist sophistication of Asian-inspired pieces that help give you a peaceful and meditative state, you can take a trip around the world in the comfort of your own home. Click on the slideshow to see some home decor that will add the alluring glamour of distant destinations to your living space.

Luxe Minimalism For Your Home On A Minimal Budget!

Simplicity in design is a hard thing to achieve. To show good taste and sophistication through minimalism and to have practical and beautiful styles that are sleek and not overwhelming are all characteristics of good design. Every time I see displays of furniture showrooms, or flip through home decor magazines, I always find myself drawn to the most simple and clutter-free layouts. There's something modern, chic and comforting about the sleek lines and clean, spacious feel of a room designed in a minimalist manner. However, the prices for these pieces usually are so minimal. A house should be a home and you should decorate it the way you want, but not if that means buying the furniture is going to take the roof over your head away! I've found multiple pieces and home accessories that will give your living space the sleek, minimalist look you want, without your bank account falling into minimalist territory as well! Check out the slideshow for ideas!

Cute Things To Put Stuff In

Sometimes you've just got too much stuff. Or, perhaps, sometimes it just feels like it. As a girl with a problem with misplacing things (my friends like to apply the term "loser"), there's no system I haven't tried when it comes to organizing all of my loose ends. Fittingly, I get excited when I see things that can contain my things. Especially if they're cute things that I can put those things in. When your recycled shoe box just isn't doing it for you and your home, there's a basket, box, bucket, cup, or tray out there to bring your room (and your pile of things) together. Now, it may not help you find where your things are -- for me, there's really no hope there -- but at least it'll help you express and articulate what impeccably good taste in decorating you have!
