    Influential International Style: Diane Kruger

Diane Kruger knows what's up. As the female lead in Inglorious Basterds, as well as the less recent classics like Troy and Wicker Park, she never fails to sparkle in a performance. Although she won the Cannes Chopard Trophy in 2003, I have to say that her performance at Cannes this year really put her in the stratosphere. Her style is impeccable. She takes risks in interesting sleeves, cutaways, crazy patterns and haute couture texture. She tends to stick with basic black, but chooses outrageous texture and true haute couture. It's no wonder she's Karl Lagerfeld's little darling! One of the reasons she's looked so good lately? Karl himself has used her as a muse since she appeared in Chanel handbag ads in 2007. Five Of Our Favorite Shift Dresses For Fall!

In the world of fashion there aren't many styles as effortlessly chic and timeless as the shift dress. This fall, these classic dresses take on a modern and more versatile role, shifting from weekdays in the office to weekends out on the town. Since the style seems to make an appearance down every season's runways in some form or another, there are plenty of styles, colors, lengths, and fabrics to choose from. Stylehive is, of course, full of chic yet totally unique and versatile shifts. Like this cheeky election-themed vintage shift dress- it was made in 1968, but it's perfect for 2008. Marc Jacobs' bold kelly green shift is a modern and fun take on classic houndstooth. And this rich brocade-print linen shift is 3/4-sleeved, and perfect for fall settings. To see more of this style search the Hive, and be sure to click on the slideshow to see my five favorite shift dresses.

Stylehiver Spotlight: Ouimarshmallow Cuts Through The Fluff

Meet Ouimarshmallow. Although she is new in the Hive, she is already a repeat offender! Plaids, floral, geometric, and striped, this girl may have a Jet Puffed name, but her Hive simply has no room for fluff. Houndstooth t-strap pumps from Gaultier and a mint green Missoni knit coat will have you dizzy with excitement, while her patterned dresses will make you feel like you're summering somewhere exotic. Check out a preview of some of the best prints Ouimarshmallow has to offer and where you can get them for yourselves in my slideshow!

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week SWIM Runway: Pistol Panties

I'll admit it, I'm a sucker for anything retro. From pin-ups like Bettie Page and Dita von Teese to paintings by Alberto Vargas, I love them all. Best of all, they're a great source of inspiration for swimwear! For the latest swimwear collection from Pistol Panties, it's easy to see all the retro pin-up references! Deborah Fleming, the British/Colombian designer behind Pistol Panties is committed to designing "glamorous swimwear to make you feel like a superstar." In fact, Deborah's first job was designing costumes for film and theater where she found vintage film costumes as inspiration. I can imagine almost every swimsuit flattering all shapes and sizes (which is quite a feat!). A variety of prints were featured from classic polka-dots and houndstooth to a bold print that reminded me of stained glass windows. Some of my favorite looks had giant floppy hats which provide much needed sun protection and privacy on the beach. It's hard to please everyone, but I think Pistol Panties may have done it!
