Office potlucks, family gatherings and festive times with old friends and new acquaintances are written in the stars for all of us and this means that you'll be needing to plan some real show-stopping outfits. One thing that we don't need the stars to tell us is that there's usually copious amounts of rich and delicious foods involved during this time and putting on a form fitting, body-con outfit just doesn't seem like a good idea. Stick with a simple, chic and maybe slightly looser ensemble and really dazzle the crowd with accessories and shoes. So whether you're meeting with close pals for a cozy dinner like family and friend-loving Capricorn, or busy being the life of a party like voracious Leo, just click on the slideshow to see what pair of pretty party shoes the planets have found as your perfect finishing touch for the holidays!

The Holidays Are Here! Help Me Choose The Prettiest Necklace ...

    image

The holidays mean food, fun gifts and lots of parties and mingling with old acquaintances and new. It's the perfect opportunity to dress to impress! But, realistically, I cannot see myself donning a fitted dress or anything that would give away the fact that maybe I snuck back to devour that second piece of pie... ok, third. Instead, a simple outfit would serve as a backdrop to a beautiful statement piece, like a necklace. A unique and gorgeous necklace shows individuality, a sense of fashion and distracts from a belly full of stuffing and sparkling cider. The only problem? There are too many glittering pieces that I would love to own and wear out there! I've narrowed it down to my favorite three, from Anthropologie: the Roped Posies necklace, the Golden Festoon necklace, and the Frayed Diamond necklace. Take the poll below and help me decide which necklace I should have for the holidays!

The Notorious B.E.V.Y.: Bevy Smith Dishes On Budget Entertaining

When you're a high-powered publishing executive with a discerning eye for style and a Rolodex that reads like front row at a Marc Jacobs show, what do you do for your second act? For the dynamic Bevy Smith, the answer was to pair her talent as a social conduit with her flair for entertaining and create Dinner With Bevy, a luxury social marketing enterprise that brings together the worlds of fashion, art, music, and media in a delectable, custom salon. Smith, a former Rolling Stone Fashion Ad Director and Vibe Fashion Editor-at-Large, hosts her impeccably curated fetes for celebrities, brands, and tastemakers seeking organic creative connections in a pressure-free environment. On any given evening, you might see Solange Knowles giggling with Paper Magazine Editor-in-Chief Mickey Boardman, or singer-songwriter Vanessa Carlton grooving to the sounds of "Late Night" band master and FOB (Friend of Bevy) Questlove with a Vice President from Miu Miu, Giorgio Armani, or Bottega Veneta, all of whom are among the many who have attended Bevy's dinners. "The best part about hosting dinner parties is when my seating chart is a success. To get a call from a guest the next day saying, 'I absolutely LOVED [xxx]!' is the ultimate kudos for me!" Bevy, who is also working on a style show pilot for the Oxygen Network, relies on classic Emily Post, Diana Vreeland's "Why Don't You..." tips, and the swinging gaiety of the 1950s and 60s for style cues. "Whenever I see a movie from that era, or look at a Slim Aarons photograph, I'm instantly inspired by the light-hearted, fun way folks used to entertain! Let's get drunk, smoke, and swap partners--but do so in a chic environment, " she says with a wink and a laugh. "Very 'Breakfast at Tiffany's!'" And who's on Bevy's personal ultimate guest list? "Nelson Mandela, Diana Vreeland, Michael Jackson, Albert Einstein, Truman Capote, and Bono--but even he would have to remove his shades!" Make room, Martha Stewart: Bevy is on a path to be our generation's hostess with the mostest! Check out the slideshow for a glimpse at some of Bevy's exclusive dinners. Are you gearing up for a big night for NYE? No matter how much you hydrate today, you may well be in for a little headache tomorrow morning. That being said, take in these tips and make your New Year's Day a little more pleasant. Some people are fans of the whole "hair of the dog" method, and if that's you, make some mimosas or mix up a Bloody Mary and keep the celebration going! If you just feel like putting back some nutrients in your body, go out for a fabulous brunch and down some Vitamin Water Revive or Emergen-C. A pampering spa treatment could also be just what you need to start the year off fresh. If nothing else, concealer and a giant pair of sunglasses never fail! Check out the SLIDESHOW, and have a wonderful night!
