John Hughes can pretty much be credited for the creation of the archetypal American high school, and his classic films popularized the style and feel of teens in the '80s. What he brought to the screen didn't just influence trends at the time-- it continues to trickle into fashion movements. Here, a look at the quintessential looks from Hughes' movies, some of which are totally relevant today thanks to the '80s being back in a big way.

The bucket hat and blazer: In 1986's "Pretty In Pink," Molly Ringwald plays heroine Andie. She isn't the most popular girl in school, but she loves fashion and shows off her creative personal style. With a nod to "Annie Hall," Ringwald modeled the menswear-inspired look, but added a feminine edge with floral scarves, which eventually gave way to the "Blossom" craze.

    Grad Gifts For Guys

That-a-boy. From hitting his first T-ball to learning to drive, the young man in your life has made you proud with every accomplishment he's scored. For the guy grad who's earned his diploma, a gift is certainly in order. It'd be great if the gift prepared him for the adult world, but boys will be boys, and a part of that will live in him forever. Unlike the girls, the memories will stay bottled up inside, so a gentleman graduate's gifts will be more about celebrating than reflecting -- he's on to conquer the world, after all. Sure, he'll always appreciate a card and a check -- well, we all know the card is just a fancy envelope for the check he'll be expecting under the fold -- but a gift with thought will let him know just how much you admire him for sticking it through, as well as how much you believe in him for following his dreams. Equip him well with one of these savvy tributes to your talented scholar's success from a slideshow that'll blow his mind -- and blow off some of the steam that built up in his stint as a hard-working student!

Congratulations! The high school crap is finally over-- and it's bittersweet. .There's a parting of ways for a lot of you, an uncertainty about what you're getting yourself into after a routine or home-style living, and definitely a sense of relief that you won't have to carry around a hall pass again. Hats off to you, though, as we commemorate your maturity in personality and knowledge! These accomplishments certainly shouldn't go without notice. A graduation gift should be something that inspires. Sure, any big electronic is going to be appreciated by the 'rents, but a gift that goes past the expected can give the giftee a hopeful wish for the future. Something to help them pursue their dreams, or even just remind them of what a special gem they are in this big world are a great way to show your loved ones how proud of them you are. As for those of you who've just tossed your high school hats, these gifts are great for holding on to the memories you already cherish, as well as help you make more memories to last you the rest of your lives!

Undress A Bit WIth A Short Dress For Prom!

Hey, there, high school party girl! Have you found your prom dress yet? Finding a dress can be stressful, but when all a girl wants to do is have fun, take out the stress and try something a little more ... little. A fun short gown is a great way to grab much-wanted attention from the entire student body. Speaking of bodies, while the masses are covered head to toe in a traditional long ballroom gown, flashing those stems is hot way to flaunt your fine figure. Not only will your date be glad you decided to show your sweet-self off, less fabric to your dress means more money in your pocket, as long dresses can tend to be higher priced. A glammed-up gown modeled after the styles of the season's trendiest cocktail frocks will add playful flair to your prom. So, go ahead, party girl: Make your prom off the hook (or just off like a prom dress- kidding!) with a showy, short dress!

Hive 5: Be the Top of Your Class With These Classic Schoolbags

A school bag can't be just any old bag. My preference would be to have Mary Poppins' bag, you know one that can hold literally anything, but for now I think one of the ones in the Hive will have to do. There are several requirements that add up to the perfect book bag; first, it has got to fit my laptop along with a notebook and any other school supplies I may need, along with everything I would throw in my purse: basically, it has to be massive. Second, it has to be durable and should be able to withstand lots of weight. Finally, I have to love it. I'm going to be carrying it with me for the majority of my waking hours for as many school years as it lasts, so it better be good looking bag. I've come up with the best of the best, so check out my slideshow where I apparently couldn't pick just five...
