Check Out PH8, The Sporty New Line From Bebe, In Stores Now!

    image

To be honest, I was never really a fan of Bebe Sport- my style has always been a little more running shorts, and a little less, err, rhinestone-encrusted stretch pants. But when I caught a glimpse of PH8, the line that's set to replace Bebe Sport, I knew I'd be welcoming more then a few of the athletic-inspired pieces into my closet. The looks are meant to be layered over or worn as gym clothes, perfect for the girl who wants to go from yoga to a casual dinner date or simply hit the gym after work without the hassle of a rush hour outfit change. From racerback tanks and basic leggings to draped skirts and sequined pullovers, the line's full of functional and carefree pieces that together create looks with a hint of Bebe-inspired glamour. The line's already well-received, garnering an impressive share of attention from the likes of Katy Perry, Giuliana Rancic, and Emily Current and Meritt Elliott of Current/Elliott, who styled the PH8 lookbook. Priced from $19 to $139, it's an affordable way to add a touch of confident, athletic appeal, even if you prefer trendy heels to tennis shoes. Shop PH8 in stores now, and check out the Grand Opening happening this Saturday night at a store near you!

Get Physical In Fall's Gym-Inspired Looks

    image
Lisanne Silverman on Sep 4, 2009 12:19 PM PDT
You don't have to run marathons or have a relationship with the Stairmaster to appreciate fall's athletic-inspired looks. Just look at Isabel Marant's fall '09 runway, where sweatshirt tees go from gym to glam when paired with layered skirts and embellished ankle boots. Alexander Wang has been taking sweatpants out of the gym for a few seasons now, and given their slouchy, not sloppy cut, they could almost pass as dress pants if worn with heels and a blazer- just don't tell your boss you slept in them the night before. On a budget? American Eagle and Free People can hook you up without the pricey membership. The key is to look for pieces with unexpectedly luxe touches (like cashmere or sequins), or pair casual ones with something more polished- in other words, leave the sneakers at home. Click the slideshow for more ways to get the look!

Pump Up The Stam With V Magazine's Eighties-Inspired Editorial

    image
Lisanne Silverman on Aug 31, 2009 12:24 PM PDT
Jessica Stam stars in an awesomely eighties-inspired spread in this month's V Magazine, on newsstands tomorrow. The editorial showcases Stam working out in some of fall's hottest looks, with an equally hot trainer, because everyone knows you should never stretch in a Balmain jumpsuit alone. You could pull a thread, or possibly a muscle. Other exercise ensembles include a Marc Jacobs sweater and boots, Adidas by Stella McCartney leggings layered with Chanel leg warmers, and a pair of seriously fierce Louis Vuitton over-the-knee boots that will scare off anyone who may be inclined to steal your spot on the elliptical machine. We're not sure whether we're more motivated to shop or sweat after a peek at the photoshoot, but we'll be getting in our cardio somehow, that's for sure. See the slideshow for a preview of the spread, and be sure to pick up this month's issue of V magazine tomorrow!

Lisanne Silverman on Aug 7, 2009 12:18 PM PDT
Who knew the right workout clothes could have such an impact on the quality of your workout? Sure, you could run/stretch/lift in a pair of glorified pajamas, but there's nothing like a great workout ensemble to show your dedication to getting in shape. When it comes to great workout ensembles, Body Language is your go-to brand. Their collection of workout gear is not only stylish and functional- it's sexy, too! And why shouldn't it be? There are many reasons to exercise, but above all it should make you feel good- may as well look good while you're doing it. Last week we gave you the chance to enter to win one of TWO Body Language workout outfits- read on to find out if you won!

Enter To Win Workout Outfits From Body Language!

Let's face it- no matter how much you tell yourself that you love to work out, there are days when the treadmill looks like a torture device. Honestly, thirty minutes on a conveyor belt going nowhere isn't exactly the best motivator (though come to think of it, watching Paula Deen dump a Costco-sized package of butter into a pan on the attached television screen kind of is- anyone else work out while watching Food Network?). But if your exercise ensemble consists of high school gym shorts and a ratty college tee, you may be wearing the source of your less-than-stellar outlook. In other words, get some cute gym clothes! Body Language sportswear is a line of exercise apparel unlike any other- it's comfortable, functional, and actually sexy if you can believe it (and once you see what they're giving away, you will). Think along the lines of flattering camis, tops with sexy strap details, fold over shorts, and colors that don't scream 1985. They've even been featured on Desperate Housewives! We've teamed up with Body Language to give two lucky winners the best workout clothes they'll ever own- read on to find out how you can score a set for yourself!

Get Active With Gap's New "Athleta" Line

Finding cute workout clothes can be a challenge, especially when you don't want to shell out for those designer Stella McCreditcardmaxout lines. New from the Gap Group: Athleta, a line of workout clothing for women that's affordable and attractive. We're not going to say the styles are to-die-for, but it's worth checking out. You can shop by sport, which doesn't just include your basic yogawear and running gear, but also covers ski/snowboarding, golf, and hiking. In the mix you'll find bra-tanks in punchy colors, skirt-capris, patterned performance swimsuits that are the anti-Speedo, and nylon tennis dresses. There are some crazy prints that vary from loud graphic flowers to hippie mendi designs that you may want to be cautious about wearing. At least you can say they're not boring!
