As the resident Irish expert at Stylehive (disclaimer: former Irish dancer, Notre Dame Alumna and Chicago native - the home of the green river... not to mention my birthday is the day after!), I'd like to help you discover the Irish in your for St. Patrick's Day. March 17th only comes around once a year, but since it's on a Tuesday this year, we are lucky enough to celebrate it on the surrounding weekends, too! You know the saying, everyone's Irish on St. Patrick's Day, so celebrate banishing the snakes from the Emerald Isle. You'll be singing "Danny Boy" over this adorable Joe's Jeans Katie Bag and seeing a thousand shades of green after seeing this Volcom Letter Mess Burnout Tank. Old Navy always designs a great t-shirt every year for the occasion, at a great price of $5! Check out my slideshow for some stylish St. Patrick's Day flair!

I've never been a summer wardrobe kind of girl. You might say that I endure summer fashion. How strange is that coming from someone who has lived in sunny Southern California her whole life?! But, I relish the time when the seasons change and we move into cooler weather and...wait for it...BOOTS! I love boots and there is no question that boots, short and tall, fun and elegant, are in for fall. They're everywhere and eco fashion designers are getting it so right this season. With Stella McCartney and Cri de Coeur leading the way earning two of my picks, here are 10 of my favorite eco-friendly and vegan boots to help you get a jump on the season. An educational note: There is a difference between an eco-friendly shoe and a vegan shoe. Vegan means that absolutely no animal products are used, but the materials are not necessarily sustainable. Call it socially responsible. Eco friendly means the materials used are either recycled, vegetable tanned leathers (as opposed to chemically tanned) or other sustainable textiles. Eco Chic: 7 Green Little Black Dresses!

    image

The first little black dress became popular in the 1920s when Coco Chanel introduced what Vogue called her "Ford" dress. Like Henry Ford's cars, it only came in one color: black. And, like Henry Ford's cars, it became an instant craze. And why shouldn't it? It was designed not to show stains and the fit flattered most women. Today, of course, the little black dress is a staple in pretty much every female's wardrobe. And in honor of Earth Day this past Tuesday, why not make your next little black dress green? Choose an eco-friendly authentic vintage version of this fashion icon and you'll look super-chic while leaving the tiniest carbon footprint. Just click my SLIDESHOW for seven stunning inspirations.

I can€™t think of anything more decadent than a cozy, comfortable basic piece that swaddles one in a mix of luscious material and great fit to sooth the stylish soul (and make dozens of outfits look fabulous). Now, add to this that it€™s actually environmentally friendly, sustainable or supportive of social change and it€™s like the ultimate combination. Fashion with a point, style with substance €“ and you walk away looking like the bad ass trend setter you€™ve always been. Only now you€™re even cooler because you€™re lending a hand to saving the planet! Here's a SLIDESHOW of my five favorite online eco-friendly basic pieces to make it easy on you - and easy on Mother Nature.
