TheFind Rocks The Fingerless Glove Trend For Fall

    image
Alex Gambardella on Oct 8, 2009 5:23 AM PDT
One of the more dramatic trends this fall is the fingerless glove. This trend is part of the glam rocker trend and coordinates well with black skinny jeans, moto jackets and studded accessories. But be careful not to go overboard. Pair fingerless gloves with a leather vest, tee and jeans or with leggings and a faux fur belted vest. These gloves are more for effect than for function, as they will probably not keep hands warm during the snowy season. Some favorites include the frivolous and fun Sparkle Fingerless Gloves by Free People ($38 at Shopbop). These fine knit 15-inch long gloves feature a multicolored metallic sparkle, ruching on the sides and cutouts along the outer side. Aqua's Fingerless Knit Gloves ($45 per pair at Bloomingdales) come in a wide variety of colors to accent your fall wardrobe. Long knit rib cuffs can be worn rolled up or to full length. Carolina Amato's fuchsia Snappy Fingerless Driving Gloves add a fun pop of color and perfectly accent an all-black outfit. Scope out our friends at TheFind for more on the fingerless glove trend, as well as coupon codes to snag a pair for less!

Valentine's Day Gifts For Unconventional Hearts

erin atkinson on Feb 4, 2009 1:19 PM PST
Valentine's Day is fast approaching as we can all see by the huge red and pink hearts strewn throughout the stores-- or for those of you with that glass half empty perspective, you might replace "strewn" with "regurgitated." At any rate, these not-so-subtle reminders always force us to ponder just where our own relationship status stands, whether we protest the holiday or not. Then our next thought arises which is usually "what am I going to wear?" So where is it you find yourself this year? Single and not really wanting to mingle, but love fashion and an excuse to dress up? Or have a boo, but not a fan of such a commercialized holiday? Maybe you're a self-confessed sappy romantic that loves Valentine's Day, but thinks that the red and pink hearts are so elementary school. Perhaps you just want to throw out the usual kitschy hearts and cupids and find some cutting-edge looks for the 14th. Here are some unconventional ways to be spirited about Valentine's Day without going over the top, or even having to give in to cupid's arrow.

Looking Hot For Cold Weather Sports!

Besides building a snowman, the best part of living in a snowy climate is being able to escape to the mountains to ski (or snowboard, if that's your bag, baby). There's nothing quite like the crisp, thin air and the explanation of windburn to your friends who think you went to a much hotter climate for the day. In addition the activity itself, winter sports also have the added benefit of really cute fashions. Ralph Lauren's Elevation Jacket and Pants could turn any fashionista into a skiier. What's more important is that this gear is truly functional and will keep you comfortable in blizzard conditions. Check out my SLIDESHOW for lots of cute skiing and snowboarding outfits!

    Practical And Adorable Fingerless Gloves!

Cute and functional aren't found in the same package nearly enough, am I right? All too often it feels like we're forced to choose between the two! That's why I'm so excited that fingerless gloves are finally being considered a style statement beyond that of 'hobo' (not boho, hobo). Mittens and gloves are adorable in their own right, but soon enough we all need use of our fingertips, if only for the purpose of adjusting the volume on our iPods. And who wants to be pulling on gloves and taking them off all the time? Designers from those on Etsy to fashion favorite 3.1 Phillip Lim seem to agree because the knit wonders are popping up everywhere!
