    Line To Watch: PRISM London

    image
Pauline Montupet on Jul 21, 2009 2:10 PM PDT
Take glasses beyond a necessity and into being an accessory. Frames are as important as any other accessories, and maybe even more as they are on your face. Glasses are a way to express individuality and immediately change your look, even people who don't even need glasses are even wearing them. PRISM frames are here to help you do just that. Inspired by vintage frames from the '50s and '60s the designer Anne Laub also pulled inspiration from street style in cities like New York, Paris and Rome- cities that also give each pair of frames there namesake. The unisex collection has bold frames in cat-eyed, oval and square shapes made in cool colors like midnight blue, zebra tortoise and clear. Each pair of glasses is handmade and hand finished using traditional techniques. There are no big factory style molds being used here, so each frame is like a unique piece of art. Each pair features a subtle prism graphic on the arm that is more low key than a flashy logo. Even the case they come in, a clear prism-shaped box is super fashionable, and can even function as a rad clear clutch! The glasses are available now for pre-order at www.prismlondon.com and will hit stores in July.

Bright-Rimmed Sunglasses Put A Summery Spin On Shades

You may think you've got it covered in the sunglasses arena with your trusty rimless aviators and black wayfarers that you switch off depending on your mood and outfit. However, while that 90's comeback fad of blinding neon clothing slowly fades out this summer, bold colors are finding a new outlet -- your shades! This season's sunglasses are all about bright frames and rims, and with all the brands jumping on this technicolor trend (high-end and super-affordable alike!), you're bound to find yourself getting bored with your tortoise shell shields fast. Go for designer pair in your favorite or most wearable color, or collect a whole rainbow's worth of shades to go with any outfit! They're not only a great way to draw attention and exude personality even while hiding behind your glasses, but they're also a surefire way to get into the poolside mood, pronto! Check out the slideshow to see a variety of some vivid frames!

Revenge of the Nerds Glasses Are HOT HOT HOT!

    image

Break out your plastic glasses and demonstrate your high IQ by releasing your inner nerd. I€™ve spotted the bookworm trend sprinkled around New York City streets since last summer, then Ms. Erykah Badu took it public, and now Teen Vogue darling Catherine Holstein made it the anchor of her freshman fashion show this fashion week past (which by the way, we loved, so keep an eye on her.) I tried to figure out the best way to get the look without having to go completely overboard, so click SEE SLIDESHOW to see how you can get yourself some straight A€™s. Then click READ MORE for more tips on how to accessorize them!
