Hot In The Hive: Food Print Bowls

    image

Have you ever been tricked by a mirror? No, I'm not talking about those dressing room mirrors that make anyone look like Gisele. I'm talking about mirrored walls that make rooms look bigger or half-filled mirrored bowls that make it seem like it's filled with endless treats. Yup, I've definitely gotten tricked by mirrors! This time, it's not a mirror that has tricked me, but trompe l'oeil print instead. I found these food print bowls from Dutch by Design and was instantly charmed by them. The outside of the bowls look quite ordinary, but once you peek inside, a convincing print of popcorn, chips, salad greens, french fries, and more can be seen. I can imagine filling the popcorn bowl with popcorn and watching my friends try and get the last kernel only to be tricked! The hard part is deciding which one to get!

Hot In The Hive: Ritz Cracker Necklace

    image

If you ever stop by the Stylehive office, you'll probably hear most of us talking about food rather than fashion. Shocking, I know! But we're always gabbing about the latest restaurant we've gone to or all the macaron flavors we want to try. So it's no surprise that I have a jewelry collection that matches my food obsession. From strawberry earrings to a gumball-like necklace, the cuter and more delicious looking, the better! I found the Ritz Cracker necklace recently and knew I had to get it. From afar it just looks like a round disc, but look closer and it's a Ritz cracker with little salt flakes and all! Remember, when you're starving, don't bite into your necklace unless you want to chip your tooth. And if a Ritz cracker charm isn't enough, try a saltine necklace too!

    Price: $24

The bar also serves lunch and dinner, but you'll find the most crowds here at night, when the hot-spot really comes to life! The best part? You can rent out a single floor for just your crew; each floor holds 100 people and comes equipped with its own private bar.

Sexy, eclectic and bold, just a few words that come to mind as you step inside the ultra chic Gitane restaurant in downtown San Francisco. The French word for "Gypsy," Gitane's decor was inspired from three different decades, a complimentary environment to its irresistible cuisine. The Mediterranean fare is inspired by Spain, France and Portugal, but it's not just the dishes that leave you craving more. The sultry ambiance of the space-- everything from the murals imported from Istanbul to the massive chandeliers that hang from the ceiling-- leave you tantalized. The expansive cocktail list of sherries, cavas, madeiras and Spanish brandies is the perfect pairing to accompany the menu.

Tired of the same old traditional restaurant? Check out this taco and rock cantina in Wicker Park for a taste of something completely different. The restaurant and bar serves delicious Mexican fare in a rock and roll setting, making for a candid night out for those who are up for some serious fun. All original authentic artwork in the space was hand-picked from Mexico by the owners. Come for the tacos, stay for the nightlife. Their huge variety of tequila will keep you occupied while you dance to rock, country and mariachi music.
