Kris Vs. Adam: Which American Idol Finalist Dresses Like A ...

After weeks of country-wide auditions (both impressive and depressing), loads of judge tension and quarreling, months of neck-to-neck competitive performances, a whole dictionary's worth of nonsensical new "Paula-isms," and style makeovers galore, it's crazy to think that it all comes down to just one night of singing their hearts out and a few billion text message votes. One of the finalists is about to have his life changed forever (as if that hasn't already happened to both of them already... or as if actually being crowed the "winner" really seals one's fate -- just ask Taylor Hicks). On one end, we have the guy-next-door acoustic Guitar Hero, Kris Allen, and on the other, a bad-ass Broadway-gone-rebel rocker Adam Lambert -- an unlikely duo who have just about as much in common as night and day. And aside from their vastly divergent musical tastes and sounds, their Glam Squad makeovers on the show's later rounds have them exhibiting their contrasting vibes not only in their musical stylings, but in their distinctly different fashion sense as well. Kris Allen's casual button-down shirts and blazers pair perfectly with his pared down acoustic accompaniments and raw yet soulful voice, while Adam Lambert's flashing lights and illuminating staircase entrances just wouldn't be complete without an equally dramatic rockstar look. We know this isn't "Fashion Idol," but hey -- how many times have you heard Simon snarl, "I absolutely loathe what you're wearing"? Face it -- posh performance ensembles are vital, whether or not it's really about the singing, so check out the slideshow for a week-by-week comparison of the last two standing, then vote below on whose performance outfits outdid his competitor's! Who Will Take The Cycle 12 Crown And Become America's Next ...

As tomorrow's anticipated finale officially rounds out a whopping dozen cycles of "America's Next Top Model," I can't help but be slightly excited that at least one of my preseason predictions for the Top 3 actually made it into the Top 3! As surprised as I am that Allison and Aminat have made it this far despite barely skating by at panel for several weeks, and as sad as I am that Fo isn't going to be among them vying for one of the two coveted spots in the finale fashion runway, I'm still eager to watch the outcome of this season full of surprises. We've watched them fight, we've watched Tyra make them cry, we've watched them get lost in the slums of Brazil and inevitably be disqualified from the go-see challenge, and we've watched Ms. J's ever-growing bow-tie consume his face. And looking back on it all, all I can conclusively say is that maybe I'm not so great at first-impression predictions as I thought. So I'm gonna let everyone else put in their two cents -- vote below on who you think will be this season's Top Model (or just who you're rooting for), then make sure to check out the finale at 8pm tomorrow (Wednesday) and see if you're right! Your guess is as good as mine, if not better! Photo Credit: CWtv.com

New York Fashion Week Runway: Project Runway Designers Let ...

    image

Project Runway's traditional Bryant Park finale -- the chance of a lifetime for its contestants -- has always been an event full of nail-biting excitement and audience chit-chat over their favorites among the top 3 and who they predict will take the season's title. For the show's 6th season, however, things had to be done a little differently. While legal battles over the rights to the show, which raked in about 4 million viewers each episode last year, rage on and remain undecided, production for the 6th season was forced to move on with the traditional Fashion Week finale even though its preliminary episodes may not air for several more months, if the disputes are ever finally settled. As a result, in order to prevent spoiling the season due to leaks, the final 3 contestants were not allowed to introduce their designs this time around and instead were forced to remain hidden and anonymous for the runway show finale -- the occasion that is normally supposed to be their proudest moment to date. While this undoubtedly put a damper on the usually high-profile and openly celebratory event, the good news is that the clothes truly did get all the glory (that is, when people weren't too busy buzzing over the whole legal issue) -- and isn't that what Fashion Week should be about, anyway? While I thought the show seemed to lack its usual brightness (though it's hard to top Season 3's Uli Herzner when it comes to color variety) and black leather certainly seemed to be in surplus, collectively I found the three collections to be greatly impressive -- both in their elaborate construction and chic wearability (save for a couple extreme biker-esque numbers, I would gladly have taken down any one of the models and walked off wearing any of the ensembles shown)! Despite common fabrics, each designer seemed to hold their own and show off distinct visions, even in their anonymity. While I was blown away by the 2nd designer's array of flirty dresses (I can't even imagine how much work he/she must have put in to pull off all the ruffled and paneled detailing!), I must say that I think I'm already pulling for the 3rd designer's "futuristic-equestrian" line because of its cohesive completion -- almost every ensemble contained 3 or 4 pieces, some even including a handmade bag! Plus, that closing black ballgown with sequin detailing may just be the prettiest thing I've ever seen float down the finale runway!

Colors: tons of black, silvery blue, tan, satiny cream
Silhouettes: layered ruffles, chunky sweaters, cropped coats, snug pants, short dresses
Celeb Sightings: Akon, past winners Christian Siriano and Jay McCarroll

Korto Says She's "Annoyed" Over Project Runway Elimination. ...

Most of us cannot even imagine what it must be like to be in the final two, knowing full well that one person is about to realize her dream while the other will have fallen short. It's just the scenario that played out on last night's Project Runway finale, where the last five minutes saw Leanne and Korto waiting to hear Heidi say just one name. Korto's disappointment was palpable as her face fell at the announcement- it couldn't have been more of a departure from the elation she exhibited during the runway show. I spoke to Korto about her reaction, her thoughts on Leanne's work, and her future plans. Read on to find out what she had to say, and click the SLIDESHOW to see her collection on the runway at Bryant Park.

Leanne Wins Project Runway! Catch Our Exclusive Interview!

Last night season five of Project Runway came to a close, and between the excitement, exhaustion, and emotions that came with showing at Bryant Park, it was truly anyone's game. Tim told the remaining designers they'd need to edit their collections down to 10 pieces each, and so the process began. Kenley struggled with how she would use the "McQueen" gown from before, as Korto opted to create two entirely new pieces, no longer feeling entirely confident about her wedding dress. Meanwhile, Leanne got to work finishing up her collection.
Showtime! The big day finally arrived and the designers put the final touches on their looks and models before showing off months and months of hard work to their families, friends, and the world. Then, a change of plans- the guest judge backed out last minute, and Tim Gunn was called to fill in! Would his behind-the-scenes knowledge of the designers' work and their plans influence his judging? No time to wonder- the show was set to begin. It all went smoothly and each designer truly embraced the moment- who could forget Korto taking her daughter along for her walk? But then things calmed down as Kenley, Korto, and Leanne were called before the judges, who praised each of their collections as quintessentially their own. Kenley was the first to be sent home, and the silence was deafening as Korto and Leanne stood there waiting to hear the one name that would change their lives and careers forever. Finally, Leanne was named the winner. I had the chance to speak with her about her reaction, her thoughts on the other designers, and her plans. Read on to see what she had to say!

StyleSteal: Where to Get The Girls of the Hills' Finale Look

Monday night's huge Hills extravaganza celebrating the finale (appropriately held at Area, the Hollywood hot-spot home to so much of this season's deliciously juicy drama) was more of an excuse for the stars to get decked out and party since- as we later learned- the season isn't even over yet! Now that we can all breathe a sigh of relief, knowing our favorite serial dating, trend-setting party girls aren't abandoning us just yet, we can focus on more important issues- such as where to buy the amazing dresses the girls rocked on the red carpet before the pretend last show!
