The Coveted Takes A Peek At Sephora's Window Theatrics

    image

I didn't partake in any Fashion's Night Out activities-- too much temptation to spend my life savings. But this Sephora event in New York looks like it was awesome. Temptu, famous for their airbrush makeup, created living art at the Sephora on 5th Avenue, recreating work they've done for cinema and fashion. They crafted a variety of looks, like those from an Italian Vogue spread, Robert DeNiro's character in Cape Fear (if only DeNiro had looked so yummy), and the movie The Stepford Wives. I'm not quite sure where I would wear numbers all over my face, but I totally would if I could find the right occasion! They really drew a crowd as they airbrushed models in the storefront windows for eight hours. They also lured tons of customers looking to get airbrushed and photographed for a mock fashion mag cover. Now that's a good time! Check out The Coveted for the latest happenings in the fashion and beauty world!

Watch A Preview Of "The September Issue," Coming To Theaters ...

If your understanding of the inner-workings of the fashion magazine industry is loosely based on repeated viewings of The Devil Wears Prada, get thee to a theater this fall when long-awaited documentary "The September Issue" is finally released. Directed by R.J. Cutler, the film showcases Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour in a light that few people aside from her tight-knit circle of friends and editors have or will ever see her. Behind Wintour's sunglasses and iconic bob haircut is a woman whose taste, opinion, and foresight determines the course of American fashion and the place it holds within the industry worldwide. Designers create collections for all sorts of reasons, above all to impress her-- it's no wonder she's garnered a reputation as someone to be feared. Though tense and demanding on many levels, the film is simultaneously refreshing and entertaining, and truly a rare glimpse into a world that we think we know so much about. The cameras take us through meetings, fashion weeks, and photo shoots so we can gain more understanding of the immense effort that goes into creating the magazine's most important issue. Aware of how she is perceived by those outside of her immediate circle, Wintour remains graceful and unapologetic-- after all, it is her job. The film stars Wintour alongside Grace Coddington, Andre Leon Talley, Patrick Demarchelier and Oscar De La Renta, and will be released on August 28th in NYC and on September 11th nationwide. Marion Cotillard Proves Looks Can Kill With The Lady Dior Bag ...

Move over, Audrey Tautou for Chanel -- couture cinema is a hot trend in the advertising world, and Marion Cotillard (along with her covetable collection of Dior accessories) is the new face of these fashionable mini-films. Reunited with La Vie en Rose director Olivier Dahan, the dynamic duo seeks to make movie magic not for the sake of Oscar glory this time around, but for dramatizing Dior's Lady Dior collection with a series of four mysteriously chic Film Noir-inspired installments. The first mini-film, "Lady Noire" includes all the best aspects of a good film noir flick from the muted colors to its fashionable femme fatale and slew of ridiculously well-dressed thugs -- in fact, I have to admit I spent more time checking out the killer designer loot than attempting to follow its sly storyline. Check out the trailer below, then watch the full mini-film at the official Lady Dior site to get hooked on the four-part saga. If you're really intrigued, you can even follow Lady Dior on Twitter for clues on cracking the case and news on the next upcoming installments!

Celebs Hit Up The Cannes Film Festival For A Star-Studded ...

The Cannes Film Festival, one of the world's oldest and most prestigious celebrations of cinema, isn't just a film major's dream getaway. Aside from taking place in an unbelievably gorgeous resort town that alone could lure even the most distracted and unappreciative movie-goer, the festival is the go-to event for everyone who's anyone in the film industry for networking, premiere-hopping, and just plain lounging in resort style. This year's festival, its 62nd edition, began on the 13th with Disney's new 3D film "Up" and lured out film execs, Oscar winners, musicians, and socialites alike from their Hollywood haven (not to mention from destinations all over the world). Since its kick-off, the festival has been proceeding on with more buzzed-about unreleased, independent, and overseas films -- from Jim Carrey's "A Christmas Carol" to Pedro Almodovar's "Broken Embraces" -- with many more much-anticipated masterpieces packed in through its closing day, the 24th. While it seems the stars, including Eva Longoria, Tilda Swinton, and even Paris Hilton (but then again, what event doesn't she squeeze herself into?), are spending more time stomping the red carpet than basking by the beach, but no matter which screening or luncheon they're whisked off to next, they're always looking their vacation best, whether buttoned-up or bikini clad. Which Brown-Eyed Beauty Has The Freshest Spring Makeup Look?

    image

With spring romantic comedies and action-packed blockbusters hitting the theaters and the Tribeca Film Festival in full swing, it may not be awards season anymore, but that doesn't mean that the red carpet is the least bit lonely! And while the warming weather certainly has us on the lookout for flirty styles and considerably shorter hemlines waltzing down the paparazzi parade, the season has also been lending itself to refreshing beauty trends that are just as note-worthy as the shrinking ensembles (after all -- celebs always have to be ready for their close-up!). With nude and natural toned-down glossy lips, thick lashes, and edgy-yet-classy metallic liner, this season's red carpet arrivals are demonstrating that when it comes to making an attention-grabbing appearance, it's all about the eyes. For example, the effortlessly seductive Kim Kardashian looked alluring at Tribeca's "Wonderful World" premiere with lush lash extensions, and Julia Roberts' charcoal-rimmed liner brightened her pretty peepers at The Film Society's Gala Tribute. Vote below on which premiere attendee's springtime beauty regime you covet the most! Photo Credit: PR Photos
