    Wardrobe Jackpot: Boring Stores, Reinvented!

    This recession totally sucks. But, if you ignore the unemployment rate and rising cost of beer, some good is definitely coming from it. And one of those positives is the fact that the plummeting sales of retail chains has caused them to re-evaluate their brand and reinvent themselves for fall. Suddenly stores that used to make me feel nauseous (boasting window displays stuffed with mom jeans and fugly tablecloth patterns), actually have some adorable stuff that us college girls would actually consider wearing. For the closets of fashionistas, this is great news. Now there are a dozen more stores that we can peruse online during class and drool over on our weekly treks to the mall. (Plus now when my mom calls and tells me she's going to Ann Taylor to pick up a suit jacket, I can ask her to pick me up a cute skirt to add to my care package!)     "Gossip Girl" Gets Even More Fashionable!

    Yes, it's possible. As if the clothes on "Gossip Girl" weren't chic enough, now, two very well-known fashion designers are making cameos on the show's upcoming new season. And those women are Tory Burch and Georgina Chapman. Both Tory Burch and Georgina Chapman were spotted at the "Gossip Girl" studio in Long Island, NY, filming scenes for the new season. It's a big secret how the two fashionistas will be woven into the show's plot, but it was revealed that some of the set was made to look like Tory Burch's office. So, we're thinking one of the girls is trying to get a job? Or a college internship? Chapman said, "I am a huge fan [of Gossip Girl]. I was very nervous [on-set]." We have a feeling she did a fine job. We're getting more and more excited about the new season of "Gossip Girl" as we keep hearing about new cast members and guest celebrities.     Stylediarist grnyr had a simple goal when she started her Stylediary: to get out of the jeans + top rut. I'm sure most of us can relate, as putting together simple outfits can sometimes prove to be a bother. However, the Twin Cities native was able to combine pieces she already owned with new accessories to create a well-constructed, simply elegant style for herself! Whether it was a belted cardigan over skinny jeans, or a mustard vest to punch up her workwear, grnyr gave me some great ideas to update my look within the constructs of my closet.     Georgia Jagger certainly held up the family name at the Home of Alfred Dunhill Store Launch Party with her rockstar-chic look. Model, fashionista, and daughter of legendary rocker Mick Jagger, Georgia always has a look that's hip and fun, but stays true to her rock n' roll roots. Keeping it cool, casual, and feminine, Georgia effortlessly donned a carefree white cotton mini, but as always, she kicked it up notch with rockstar accessories. To maintain her edge, Georgia paired the white basic with shiny and sleek black leggings that demand attention whether she's walking on stage, on the catwalk, or just down the street! To add a little punk to her rock, she cinched a black grommet belt at the waist and stayed warm with a plaid jacket. To top it off, she completed her look with a playful bowler hat.
