WHILE Sir Paul Smith is busy guest-editing French newspaper Liberation this week, it seems that Gareth Pugh has really, really hit the big time this season. The London designer whose debut show in Paris last season drew compliments to the effect that he may one day be our new Alexander McQueen, will guest edit Time Out for London Fashion Week - as well as appearing on its cover alongside Daphne Guinness, both wearing the black and white armour pieces from Pugh's spring/summer 2009 collection that Beyoncé recently chose to wear in her new Diva video.
It's a coup for Gareth, who will show his first menswear-only show in Paris this week, as well as more good news for the London fashion scene which, despite the miserable economic conditions appears to be thriving with new sponsors coming on board to support some of our best emerging talents
