CRHEE Gives Body-Con Styling An Architectural Twist

    image
Pauline Montupet on Nov 5, 2008 10:19 AM PST
What happens when a Princeton architecture grad turns to fashion? Perfectly tailored, strong and intelligent clothing that is classic and wearable with a twist. Christine Rhee started her line CRHEE with a desire to create something new and innovative, fusing practical with the unconventional. She succeeds with innovative shapes in a muted color palette. WWD raved that "if 007 were a woman she would go to former architect Christine Rhee's body-conscious suiting in her fierce-yet-feminine line CRHEE." In the fall "Isolator" collection, her architecture background is especially apparent in the 'Slowdive' dress with stunning cutouts that€™s anything but boring. My favorite? The color-blocked wool gabardine 'Pris' pant. They€™re a perfect union of traditional and unorthodox! Prices range from $200- $800 and the fall collection is available at crhee.com! Check out the slideshow to see our favorite looks.

In case you've been hiding somewhere under a rock, there's going to be an election in the United States this November for the presidency. Shocking, I know! What's more surprising though, is the number of cute t-shirts, buttons and fashion accessories that designers are putting out in support of candidates. From Paris Fashion Week to your local Urban Outfitters, this trend has saturated the market. For every McCain and Obama t-shirt, there are plenty of good, old-fashioned, get out and vote items! So whether you choose to endorse a candidate, or choose to support the exercise of voting - there are plenty of options for you! Check out the SLIDESHOW for plenty of Election Day options - and remember to VOTE in 27 days!

    It's a Mad Men World!

Does Joan Holloway make you covet a time machine to retrieve her body-hugging style? Never fear, for this season's designers have embraced the curve-loving silhouettes of the 60s. AMC got it right in the costume department - Mad Men's ladies have the look down cold. Channel your inner Jackie O by pairing a gorgeous strand of pearls with a belted dress, like this gorgeous green Escada. For a more casual look, make like the equestrian Betty Draper and try a swing riding jacket with skinny jeans and boots. Work week chic? No problem -- try a wool cap sleeve dress like this Bottega Veneta and you're sure to turn heads! Check out the slideshow to start your journey to the fabulous silhouettes of the past! And if you still can't get enough, add some Mad Men style to your apartment too!

Hive 5: Adorable and Affordable Leather Apparel For Fall

    image
Greta on Sep 15, 2008 6:14 AM PDT
If you have seen any of this current Project Runway season, then you are surely familiar with Stella: the feisty former makeup artist from Queens who is obsessed with anything and everything relating to leather and rock and roll. Although I have previously questioned Stella's taste, I am beginning to think that maybe she is on to something. After all, leather seems to be the material du jour this fall. Designers are already making a statement by using it on everything from curve-hugging leggings and skirts, to shrunken moto jackets and hip 80's-inspired gloves. Leather has always been considered somewhat of a staple material, but this fall it's definitely a star! So how can you add some leather to your wardrobe without looking like Catwoman and breaking the bank? Well, the Hive has the answer! Check out my SLIDESHOW for five adorable and affordable leather (and leather-like) pieces for fall.
