San Francisco, California. That may not be the first city you think of when it comes to fashion, but on July 25th, they held their 6th annual
Fashion On The Square event at the Intercontinental Hotel. FOTS is not only a fashion show, but also gives back to the community. Brands and designers like Fabulosity by
Kimora Lee Simmons, Apple Bottoms, and
Old Navy and childrenswear stores such as Gymboree and Janie and Jack participated in the show and many of the models used were aspiring models from the area. FOTS also supports organizations such as K.I.D.S., Wardrobe For Opportunity and Fashion Delivers, providing clothing for children and young adults, as well as Hurricane Katrina victims. All the support given back to the community is more than appreciated, but it is a fashion event first and foremost and the best part of the show had to be the creations by up-and-coming couture designer
b. michael. The clean lines and sophisticated look of b.michael's designs were hard to miss as models, including ANTM alum Marjorie, strutted their stuff down the catwalk. Separates were a modern take on business inspired wear and evening gowns were fluid and elegant and celebrated the female form. Beautiful designs, cutting edge fashion, charity fund-raising, stellar performances... sounds more like L.A. than San Francisco!
