Back to school season, and all the planning that goes with it, is right around the corner and for many, the main concern is not upcoming classes, nerve-racking tests and potentially scary teachers. The biggest worry is what to wear! That first day of school outfit is important and can define who you are for the rest of the school year, especially if you're the new kid or an underclassman. It's important to be trendy, but not look like you're trying to hard. One must be an effortlessly chic fashion queen. The last thing you want to be known as is a geek! Or do you? Face the Summer Sun - From the Future

Sunglasses are a necessity in the summer, and this season's trends appear to be heading in opposite directions. On one hand, you've got the oversized vintage look carried over from last year and featuring large, rounded shapes and subtle, smoky colors. They're very pretty, very feminine, and a bit reminiscent of Jackie O. On the other hand, there's a new futurism trend as well, and frankly it appears the sky is the limit where that is concerned. Galactic angular shapes, bold angles, and downright Devo-looking frames. If you're curious to try the new futuristic style of shades out, you may as well head to the edge of the galaxy and go for these Incognito glasses by Martin Margiela. Far out! I was never an eyeshadow/eye liner girl, until I met that perfect palette. Until then, I wore basics - dark brown mascara, dark brown liner, and MAYBE a little glitter if it was a special occasion. Then, I happened upon the NARS 'best' Palette, and my life was forever changed. How simple it was to change my look for day and evening - I could hardly believe it! You know it's good when your friends roll their eyes and say, "Ugh, how do you get your shadow to look like that?!" One piece was all I needed to update my look - and at a reasonable price at that. Check out my SLIDESHOW for a few ways to update your eye makeup routine!

    Sunglass Hut + Artist Chris Mendoza = One-Of-A-Kind Ray-Ban ...

I was starting to get sick of seeing Ray-Ban Wayfarers on every person under the age of 40, until they did something that made them cooler than ever. The new Sunglass Hut/Ray Ban Artist series is enlisting NYC based painter Chris Mendoza to paint the frames with his South American Graffiti-esque flavor. This Friday, Nov 28th ( otherwise known as black Friday) the artist will be customizing 100 pairs of the glasses in-store at the Sunglass Hut in Soho. The sunglasses will be available for $250 to buy in the spot or on sunglasshut.com starting December 3rd. Not only will you score some one of a kind shades, but you'll also be helping out-- 25% of the proceeds go to Give The Gift Of Sight, a charity that brings glasses and vision care to those in need around the world. In the NYC area? Read on to find out how you can pick up your own pair.
