Kristin Brady redefines what it is to be sexy with her clothing line KTG. Kristin does not employ methods of western tailoring such as zippers, buttons, or hook and eye. Instead, KTG utilizes an approach akin to sculpture. All Kristin's designs are handmade in her California studio. Organic and asymmetrical, the Apron Dress is sure to be the right choice for dinner and the theater. If you are looking to go the sexy route, then the Brown with Applique piece is definitely your dress of choice. Check out the slideshow to see more of Kristin's work.

Hot In The Hive: Social Media Throw Pillows

    image
Anna Yu on Sep 24, 2009 6:24 AM PDT
You could say I'm on top of the whole social media trend. With Twitter, Facebook, Myspace and other sites, I'm always in the know about what my friends are doing, the latest insider sales, and celeb gossip (sometimes right from the source!). My laptop and iPhone are littered with apps that are supposed to streamline my time on the Web sites, but sometimes I still get overwhelmed. Sure I get stressed when Britney doesn't personally reply to my tweet or I consider unfriending someone on Facebook, but at the end of the day, these Web sites are just for fun and we shouldn't forget the power of face-to-face interactions. So when I need to relax I think I'll reach for a social media pillow straight from Etsy user Craftsquatch! I know what you're thinking: a social media pillow? They're super fun handmade pillows with the logos of your favorite Web sites and even applications-- like Photoshop! So the next time Facebook stops loading or the Twitter fail whale shows up, go ahead and hug your throw pillow and think of the days when they didn't exist... but be sure to update your status once it's back up!

    Price: $18.99
Who Found It: facadeindreams was the first to add the Social Media Pillows to the Hive.

The transition between summer and fall is a favorite time for wearing jersey dresses. It is so easy to dress them up or down! We found some darling ones this week from some great indie designers. Deirdra Morgan of Punkin NYC has a gorgeous blue Italian cotton jersey for sale at Smashing Darling. Eco-friendly choices are plentiful this season-- check out OrganiK Revolution's soy jersey dress with the added mock collar detail. We recently fell in love with Fancy Picnic, a hot new company on the DIY scene. UK Designer Charlotte creates multi-textural pieces that will help you add those finishing touches to your favorite outfits. Charlotte loves working with gorgeous textiles, silken threads, luscious braids, vintage buttons and sparkly beads as she creates a variety of wearable jewelry. And the bright colors will spice up your late summer and fall outfits. We've also found some of our other favorite designers dishing up some tempting textile eye candy. Check out gorgeous necklaces by 7thMagpie, Shagpile, and Kirev8. And if you need an elegant neutral piece, All Things Pretty's "Once Upon A Time" necklace for $195 is a must see. This dreamy piece, made from layers of lace, vintage and antique, crocheted and tatted - it is a real work of art. Check out our slideshow for some more handmade designer textile pieces.
