Summer Beauty Picks To Keep You Fresh-Faced And Flawless On ...

Summer weddings are beautiful, with the blue skies, lush greens and thriving flowers. The outdoors are alive-- what a perfect setting to dedicate yourself to your life-long love! Embrace the season and play up summer's zest with a beauty regimen that will put you in steep competition with the ravishing landscape. There are, however, some things to caution with such a fruitful time of year, like the heat that can turn a bride from stunning to sweltering. Oil-free foundations are a must, as are formulas that are light and airy to let your pores breathe. However, sometimes light and airy is synonymous with flaky, non-lasting makeup, so you'll need some of these dependable picks to last you on your ceremony of a lifetime. In the heat of the moment, you'll need a moisturizer first to start off fresh (oil-free of course), followed by a primer to make everything stay all day. A summer wedding is code for flawless skin, so you'll want to play up your skin tone with the some sunshine accents. More importantly, you'll want to brighten up without upstaging your skin with too much color splashing other areas of your face. While you'll want shimmer and bronzer to brighten your base, you won't want to get too bold with autumnal plums or merry reds sprinkled on your eyes and lips. For your eyes, soft summer colors will certainly be staple items in your makeup bag: you'll use those to match your wedding theme's color composition. Don't let the lips overdo the statement your skin is making either by choosing a natural, more matte look that will make your lips a kissably-soft surprise for the leading man. Any color like Stila's Long Wear Lip Color in Darling (Golden Champagne) would be a perfect fit. If you must be bold with color, choose a nail color with some botanical bite. When it's all said and done, the beauty picks in this slideshow will make you an amazing summer queen!

Blue Nails: Love It Or Loathe It?

A few years ago, we all fell hard for Chanel's black nail polish. Celebs started sporting this goth color and soon it spread faster than the H1N1 virus. But can they cause another nail craze again? Come summer, most of us turn to bright pinks, corals and reds when we head into the nail salon (if we head in at all); however, this summer may be different. Recently, there has been quite the stir in the nail salons across the country -- stars such as Lauren Conrad, Whitney Port, Lindsay Lohan and Miley Cyrus have been encouraging the masses to sport blue nails! The colors have ranged from a dark navy to teal blue (a la little Miss Cyrus at last weekend's MTV Movie Awards), but the real question is, are you prepared to go blue this summer? Editor's Pick: The Perfect DIY Manicure

Once upon a time, I was the most boring person EVER when it came to my nails. I€™d go in for a manicure and breeze past the polish selection opting for the same hues every time- anything white, or maybe, if I was feeling particularly adventurous, a soft pink. When the black nail polish craze hit, I couldn€™t resist temptation, gave it a try, and loved it so much I was soon hooked on all shades in the ultra-dark family. Emboldened by my newfound ability to take risks with nail-color, I gradually began experimenting with every conceivable color. Regular trips to the manicurist became a major strain on my wallet, so I had to improvise and learn some DIY techniques. 11 Spring-tastic Nail Polish Shades!

Winter is officially over, meaning you might want to abandon that super dark nail polish, unless it€™s your signature look or you€™re Ashlee Simpson €“ personally, we€™re suckers for OPI€™s €œLincoln Park After Dark." But we€™ve also really been liking Rihanna€™s fluorescent nails at the Grammys and in her ad for H&M. (Catherine totally copied her by wearing neon pink polish yesterday.) When we were looking around for new nail polish colors, we came upon some great and some super boring pastel colors, which seem to be the look for Spring. Click SEE SLIDESHOW for a mix of the ones we like, along with some brighter orange, red, and pink hues.
