David Beckham Unveils New Emporio Armani Underwear Ads At ...

Dressed in a navy blue Armani suit, David Beckham greeted fans at the Selfridges store on London's Oxford Street yesterday where he unveiled his latest ads for Emporio Armani underwear, dressed in, well, not much at all. Giorgio Armani had this to say: "David has a great sense of style and is an inspiring role model-- this is what makes him the perfect partner for Emporio Armani underwear." I can think of a couple of other things that make him the perfect partner for Emporio Armani underwear, but I clearly lack Mr. Armani's professionalism and restraint, so there you have it.

No Need To Slum In Sweats With Evenagamba

As a big fan of designers such as Marni and Ter et Bantine, I've always wished that someone would take the deceptively simple cuts and understated artistry of both brands and apply it to casual sportswear. So it was kismet when, a few weeks ago, I was introduced to Evenagamba, a sublime line of sweatshirts by fashion industry veterans Juan Carlos Anglero and Henric Olsson. After stints at Chloe, Emporio Armani, Pamela Dennis, and Kate Spade, among others, the two friends paired up in 2007 to create this sumptuous casual line that represents the sum of their experiences through extensive travel, personal interests, and a love for fashion. Evenagamba takes its name from a Spanish slang term--"gamba"--for a fashion poser, or someone who follows the masses instead of developing their own personal style, something no one will accuse these pieces of lacking. I visited their showroom last week, where I viewed the line personally and was duly floored by both the quality of the pieces and commitment to social responsibility and activism the designers have incorporated into the brand. Each shirt is cut from the finest Pima cotton and comes in rich earth tones; Napa leather accents and seamlessly hidden iPod compartments give the collection a modern, edgy tone; and every piece includes eye-catching lining that is imprinted with a narrative and an image that highlights a current cultural issue. Juan Carlos and Henric are also committed to developing relationships with their suppliers, such as cotton growers in Peru, that extend beyond just a typical exchange of goods and services, and include initiatives to invest in the community as a whole. As Juan Carlos shared, "The lure of doing something for society was just as crucial as creating the line." A stylish, refreshingly original line that "even a gamba" (wink, wink) would wear. Check out the slideshow for Evenagamba's inaugural collection, and visit them online at www.evenagamba.com to shop and for retail locations!

Web Crawl: What Will Beckham's Mother Think?

David Beckham's no stranger to the provocative photographs, that's for sure. So it should come as no surprise that he's unveiled not one, but two larger-than-life Emporio Armani Underwear ads, and one's in San Francisco's Union Square, a.k.a. just steps from our office. Oh, but the soccer star and daddy to Brooklyn, Cruz, and Romeo wants us to know he looks good in clothes too. Thanks for clearing that up Becks, but don't feel like you need to prove that anytime soon. Click on over to Stylewatch to continue staring - I mean, reading.

Trend I Hate: Wide-Leg Pants With Banded Hems

Okay, I know style is a very personal thing for some people, and everyone's entitled to their own, but let's face it - some trends just don't work for anyone. Case in point: these jodhpur-style pants by Emporio Armani. First of all, jodhpurs are meant to be worn while horseback riding, and I don't see a horse here. I also don't see the poor model's face - wise choice on her part - but I sure hope Armani gave her a nice paycheck for this gig because those are some truly unfortunate trousers. The pleating offers a not-so-subtle Kardashian-like effect while the banded hems add extra volume, and the results are nothing short of disastrous. Of course, I realize more flattering pairs do exist, such as Jean Paul Gaultier's linen pinstripe pair, but you wouldn't even know the two pairs were born of the same trend.

People tend to get attached to their watches. New or old, tattered or in top shape, a watch is one of those things that becomes a part of its owner as time goes on. Chances are, the dad in your life has been wearing the same one for years and years, so why not surprise him with a new one this Father's Day? If you know for a fact that he's particularly stuck on the one he already has, we've found a few trendier options that'll let him switch out his standby from time to time. Let€™s face it, celebs are hot. Celebs in their underwear, even hotter! Calvin Klein was the first to cash in on the craze (who can forget Marky Mark€™s pants-dropping undie flaunting antics from the early 90€™s), then came Emporio Armani and their brilliant decision to get David Beckham to bare all, after which Calvin Klein decided to get back in on the scantily-clad celeb action. The brand has recently named the smokin€™ hot, recently rehabbed Eva Mendes as their newest celebrity underwear model. Click on over to fabsugar for the panty-licious scoop.
