Stylediarist/Model Noel Brings Style To Ohio!

When I feel like my style is stuck on repeat like a broken record player, I turn to Stylediary to mix it up! Well today was one of those days and I found myself perusing the closet of Noel, a 21-year-old fashionista from Dayton, Ohio. After taking one look at her, it's no surprise to me that Noel is a model and better yet--a model that loves to play dress-up! Noel recreates the energy of the eighties with bold prints like this sweater dress or with this charming monochrome look. My favorite is this adorable floral jumper! So get inspired by my current style savior, Noel, by clicking on the SLIDESHOW and also be sure to check out Noel's StyleDiary!

Elle's Fall A To Zee Trends: Essential Eighties

It goes without saying that fashion is all about pushing the envelope, so when a crop of neon green and pink Marc by Marc Jacobs accessories ever so effervescently greeted me during a jaunt through Macy's a few months ago, I made a mental note and then carried on with my day. But last month at New York Fashion Week I witnessed a group of photographers go into a snapping frenzy at the sight of one attendee's neon green painted toenails peeking out from her black peep-toe heels, thus confirming my theory that we are indeed in the midst of an eighties revival. The key to working this trend without looking like you escaped from a highlighter factory? Limit your outfit to one wow-factor item- a brightly accented clutch or a neon pair of heels, for example- and keep the rest of your look understated. It's all about the element of surprise, so keep things fresh by not going overboard- you don't want your shocking pink handbag to send anyone into actual shock! Go ahead, scoop up Spitfire's neon yellow-adorned sunglasses and shield your eyes- the future's never looked brighter. Go to Elle's Fall A to Zee trends to see Joe Zee's picks, and click on my slideshow for even more fluorescent finds.

Summer most definitely means summer vacation! And although people are bag-obsessed, they seem to forget that luggage is as much an accessory as any handbag! But you don't need to have a private driver hauling your Louis Vuitton trunks around to say 'I travel in style,' because these fun suitcases have personality to spare. Adventurous colors, prints, and graphics make traveling more fun and fashionable. Vintage to ghetto blaster-inspired, these items are most definitely conversation pieces that anyone in any country can admire. Check out my SLIDESHOW so that you'll never be stuck at the airport carousel guessing which luggage is yours again!

Vintage Style: Sunshine Finds for Vintage Fashionistas

It's that time of year when the Back to School sales are in full swing. And while I'm won't be stocking up on any yellow No. 2 pencils, I am inspired to sport something in the sunshine shade during the remaining carefree days of summer. Yellow is a surefire attention-getter (which is why there are so many yellow taxicabs on our streets) but that also makes it especially tricky to wear. Try pairing it with neutrals for a chic ensemble or with navy for a nautical look. And if you think you can't wear yellow because it washes you out, don't give up without a fight. With choices that range from banana to canary, you are sure to find a sunshine shade that is just right for you. Still need some inspiration? Then click the SLIDESHOW for a collection of yummy yellow vintage finds.

Consider for a moment that, according to the EPA, four million tons of textiles are sent to landfills each year. Four million tons! Now we vintage fashionistas are already doing our part to alleviate this particular problem, but there's always something more we can do, right? Maybe it's time to check out that consignment shop on your way home. Or to make sure you keep some paper shopping bags in your car for your next department store visit. Or to find a tailor and re-fashion a dress you were going to trash. Being green and being chic are not mutually exclusive. And vintage fashions will always carry a lower carbon footprint than any of the new eco-fashion labels. Just click the SLIDESHOW to be inspired with ten fabulous finds under $100.
