As the weather turns cooler in the coming weeks, it's time to bring out the layers and subdued tones.

As much as bright colors were a part of summer, vibrant earth tones are a staple for fall. Varying shades of camel and nudes, dusty brick reds, olive greens and stormy grey-blues now have their time in the spotlight.

Earth tones are versatile and make great layering pieces with just the right amount of color for the autumn weather.

We've turned to five of our favorite fashion bloggers to get their take on earth tones for fall.

Stone Jewelry For An Earthy Look That Really Rocks

Please excuse the mind-numbingly silly title pun, but I do think it makes a valid point. Normally when you think of stone jewelry, you get beads made to look like pebbles, perfectly-formed round marbles that are supposed to be agate, or teal chunks of plastic made to look like turquoise. The stone jewelry I'm talking about, however, is no joke. I'm talkin' jewelry that looks like you ran to Pebble Beach, scooped up a handful of rocks, and somehow fashioned a necklace out of it. Realistically though, unless you have that sort of jewelry-making talent and therefore don't need my shopping guidance, that type of literal fresh-off-the-beach naturalness isn't going to happen. Luckily, the latest trend in stone jewelry helps capture that same raw earthiness with real stones -- whether in the form of a natural-cut turquoise ring or a bib necklace made from shiny agate. The result, though technically natural, has an unexpectedly dressed-up feel, yet with a laid-back vacation-y vibe that's perfect for summer! Check out the slideshow for my favorite stone jewelry this season!
