Shoe of the Week - DVF Opal Wedges

The Diane Von Furstenberg Opal Wedges encapsulate everything wonderful about shoes this season - the height, the shape, and the materials.
First and foremost, they are tall, they will make your legs look bangin' and they are wedges which makes them wearable, the ultimate test of an investment purchase! The crisscross canvas bands provide support, which means that you can stand comfortably in them longer than any strappy stiletto.
Secondly, the platform's structural design and shape makes this particular wedge unique. In the land of flat heels, this architectural, modern art sculpture of a wedge pops.
Thirdly, the natural fibers are the ultimate palate to work from. The wood is deep and beautiful which, combined with the canvas upper, means that these shoes are dying for a flowing maxi and jean jacket. Wear these shoes everywhere all the time with anything. Absolutely to die for.

New York Fashion Week F/W 2010: Diane Von Furstenberg

An exercise in restraint juxtaposed with a certain free-spirited glamour, Diane Von Furstenberg's fall/winter 2010 collection at Bryant Park combined fall favorites like icy grays and rich texture with light, hopeful accents like rosettes and watercolor prints. Floaty dresses worn with structured jackets, chiffon pieces paired with thick cardigans, and a healthy dose of glitzy fabrics were as lust-worthy as they are wearable, and should inspire a lighter take on next winter's weighty layers. Glossy waves and smoky, shimmer-lined eyes added ice queen-esque elegance to the collection.
