Sheer Elegance: 5 Artistic Sheer Bras

I've fallen in love with a lot of new (and some not so new) bras that are composed primarily of sheer fabrics and embroidered with all kinds of elegant patterns. When the customers in the fitting room ring that doorbell and ask me to deliver them a specific bra, I find myself adding a few of these lovely selections to the group. They're not always the most practical bras. Often the embroidery will show through tight fitting tops. I think the best way to describe them is simply "classy". The sheer fabrics are sexy no doubt, but the intricate embroidery adds so much elegance that the eye cannot help but be drawn to the artistry of the garment over what lies beneath. I own at least one of each of the beauties in the slide show and they all give me that extra boost of sexy confidence throughout the day.

Paris Style: Lou Doillon Blends Luxury With Studious Dishevelment

On a trip to Paris this spring, I became obsessed with Lou Doillon, daughter of Jane Birkin. Her influence is everywhere: bohemian with a slightly tough, rock-n-roll edge, but also a touch of luxury. It is all so impossibly chic the way these women zip around Paris on their motorbikes, clad in leather jackets or leather pants and layers of scarves and jewelry. The key to this look is the right balance: keeping delicate or frilly things toned down with something a little edgy (a flowy, silky dress with a motorcycle jacket) and vice versa (a strand of pearls or rhinestones with a flannel shirt and trousers). To avoid the tragedy of infantilizing yourself with too much lace, ruffles, and flowers, sometimes a little grit is just what the doctor ordered.
