Say It Loud: Got 'Em At Aldo & I'm Proud!

The days of dreaming about how to get those $600 designer shoes are over. Most of us grew up with brands like Steve Madden and Aldo in our local mall or shopping center. Tried and true, we visited these stores for last-minute parties or a pair of work pumps... but not anymore. These brands have caught all the way up, and now feature designs that are fierce, funky and fabulous. With the economy in such a rough state, money is spread thinly for most. But for us ladies, having an amazing shoe must always be in the budget. With most prices at $100 or less, and styles that rival designer brands, you can two-step in your new shoes all the way to the bank! We love these strappy croc booties, especially at the bargain price of $90! See more fashion, beauty, and style news at Essence.

Relive The Good Old Days With Some Updated Keds Sneakers!

As a nostalgic '80s and '90s baby, I've always looked back at wearing Keds fondly. It's sort of like remembering when MTV used to play music videos: a distant, heartwarming memory of a time that, sadly, will likely never repeat itself. Looking through Keds' newest offerings, though, I might be forced to rethink my stance. They're actually pretty adorable! The company has updated its iconic Champion shoe (or "skips," to some of us) in funky colors and fabrics (such as croc-embossed leather) and even launched a Keds Studio on their Web site where you can design your own version of the classic sneaker. In addition, Keds and Tracy Reese's Plenty line have collaborated on a collection that might have quite a few of us itching to jump back on the Keds bandwagon (just please don't break out the multicolored slouch socks with them...please?). Check out the slideshow for a Keds update!

This fall, join La Vie Boheme by layering on your favorite flowy, studded, and tribal styles. Lightweight printed fabrics bring out your inner bohemian, while studded leather accessories transform your look from hippie to haute. Since this style is all about layers and experimenting with different colors and textures, just about anything goes, but to perfect your urban bohemian look this fall there are a few necessities worth investing in. Studded leather adds that sexy-tough appeal, and these black leather and gold studded ankle booties work as wonderfully with La Boheme looks as they do with jeans. Make this strapless boho-print dress fall weather-proof by pairing it with leggings and a fitted moto jacket, and top your entire look off with loose hair and this ultra-glam braided peacock headband. Check out Elle's A to Zee Trends for Joe Zee's urban bohemia picks, and click on our SLIDESHOW to see our favorite examples of this trend, straight from the Hive.

We all have different budgets. What's inexpensive for one person is three months take-home pay for someone else. Sometimes, when it comes to fashion, you have to remind your wallet to think like Goldilocks. When searching for a vintage treat, it's important to find an object you love at a price that's not too cheap, not too expensive, but "just right" for you. Fortunately, there are options for every price range. To see what I mean, click the slide show to view a selection of fabulous vintage alligator and crocodile handbags with price tags from $150 to $4999. Any one of them would be perfect for your Spring wardrobe and, with some tender loving care, they'll continue to look good for at least another decade or two.
