Another day, another week, and although events and situations may change, one thing remains the same. We're all so busy, busy, busy! Planet retrograde is finally showing a slow-down in schedules and telling us to take a moment to breathe and relax. Not bad advice at all, especially considering the fun and frenzy that will soon be upon us accompanying the holiday season. A quick consultation with the stars has shown which cute and comfortable pieces are perfect for your days of rest and relaxation. While it is important to take some time to breathe and unwind, we can't completely hole ourselves away from society, but no worries because with a little mascara and a fresh manicure, many of these casual clothing items are still chic enough to be worn in public! Hot In The Hive: Purse Flats!

    image

Who says you need to sacrifice quality for comfort? Purse Flats are comfy portable shoes that fold up neatly into a cute accompanying clutch to salvage stiletto-sore feet on the dance floor, out on the town, or even during long meetings at work. Since they've been spotted on Mya during her "Dancing With The Stars" rehearsals, you gotta figure they must be pretty comfortable, not to mention sturdy! Sure, they're not as affordable as the vending machine Rollasole version, but a portion of the proceeds is donated to support underprivileged youth! Plus, since I have yet to find a shoe dispenser at any club I've been to, Purse Flats sound like a pretty dependable alternative on the go!

Price: $240, includes purse & flats

10 Shoes That Won't Kill Your Feet As You Trek Around Campus

Where I went to school, you could always tell who the freshmen were because they foolishly showed up to the first day of class in heels. They may have looked cute (especially before they packed on the dreaded Freshman 15, ha!) but we upperclassmen knew that by the end of the day they'd be heading to the nearest Walgreens for a family-size pack of band-aids to patch up their abused feet. On a giant campus full of hills and stairs, I learned the hard way that flats were the way to go -- and comfy ones at that. But just because I've had to leave my heels behind for the sake of blister-free soles doesn't mean I dared to give up my sense of shoe-style. You can still stay fashionable in leather peep-toe booties and snazzy sneakers without requiring a first-aid kit by the time you get to class. Check out my favorite selection of back-to-school shoes in the slideshow!

Casual But Chic Camp Shirts Are A Summer Staple

This summer, camp shirts are popping up all over the place, from the traditional structured styles to sheer, more billowy ones. They have a collar and most are button-down, so tuck them into a great pair of wide-leg linen pants and throw on a pair of pumps to be office ready! Change into a flirty skirt and wedge sandals, or some skinny jeans and peep-toe stilettos and you'll look chic and fresh for any after-hours plans you may have. Very comfortable, completely versatile and sweetly sexy in that borrowed-from-the-boys kind of way, camp shirts are the perfect summer staple. They can even double as swim cover-ups! Check out the slideshow for some of my favorites from designers like Modern Amusement, Rag & Bone, American Eagle, and more!

    Havaianas For Summer 2009!

Since the Brazilian brand Havaianas in 2001 was introduced in the Netherlands there's a big hype created around the brand. Havaianas flip-flops are true must-haves for your summer wardrobe. And the flip-flops are available in all shapes and sizes! The new collection for Summer 2009 is unique and surprising. The range has grown in variety compared to previous years. The collection is characterized by warm and summery colors, with shades of purple and gold. You also see the latest trends of this season in the sandals, like natural motifs (animals and flowers), the Roman style (braids and straps) and slippers with a wedge heel. The prices vary from 12 to 50 Euros. Since the Summer of 2007, we consistently absolutely love Havaianas flip-flops. They are really nice to your feet and have a thick sole which makes them comfortable and flexible. These hot new designs make it even more tempting to go stock up on Summer essentials now!

What To Wear: Casual First Date!

First dates are nerve-wracking in all kinds of ways. You're stressed if the guy will like you, if your hair is going to do that weird flippy thing it sometimes does, and most importantly, if your outfit is just right. Well, have no fear, for I have developed a guide to dressing for the occasion. These outfits are perfect for casual restaurants, movies, mini golf -- almost anytime! Remember to wear your most flattering jeans with this beaded tank from Banana Republic, and your outfit is sure to sparkle just as much as your eyes! Or for a cooler evening, pair this flirty ruffle wrap cardigan from Gap with white jeans or skinnies and boots for a great look! Personally, I think the best way to look cute and casually put together is by throwing on a cotton jersey dress and your favorite flats or sandals. Try this ruffle tube dress from Urban Outfitters, sure to hug your body in all the right places. Check out my slideshow for lots of casual first-date-fits!
