The colorblock craze is one that I like very much. There is nothing more sophisticated than that classic combo of black and white. Bright, solid hues matched with black or each other make for an eye-catching and fashionable ensemble. It's such an easy and appealing way to add interest and color, it's a wonder that it hasn't caught on in home decor as well. Be a trend-setter and apply this tried and true style statement to your home. You can choose a few of your favorite colors and use them in a number of accents. Throw pillows and rugs are an easy way to go and make boring rooms more colorful and energetic. Items like placemats and shower curtains are also fun and easy ways to spruce up your living space and give your home a harmonious theme without having to spend too much! Click on the slideshow for some great colorblock ideas that you can bring into your home!

Christina Milian Adds A Splash Of Color To Her Alexa Chung ...

We're big fans of wearing black. We're also big fans of wearing white. But do you ever feel a little boring fashion-wise when you're so monochromatic? Even when you mix the two, you're not showing much personality. Christina Milian has the perfect solution to that. When we saw the songstress as she was on her way to "It's On With Alexa Chung," we loved her look! Christina was wearing a black leather jacket with a white tee and black pants. Sounds pretty typical and not very exciting, right? Well, what we really loved about the outfit was that she topped it all off with some bright red, shiny pumps. She took an otherwise simple and kind of boring outfit and totally made it pop with excitement. This makes us really want to start buying lots of pretty colored shoes. That way we can keep wearing our black and white outfits, but still feel totally trendy and fun. Head over to LimeLife for more style inspiration from the stars!

The Frisky Asks: How Much Do We Love This i-D Cover?

    image
The Frisky on Aug 27, 2009 3:27 PM PDT
A few months ago both Chanel Iman and Sessilee Lopez tweeted about a "major" moment in fashion and a surprise cover. That should have been clue enough for some folks to guess. Now the secret is out: the two young models, along with Jourdan Dunn and Arlenis Sosa, grace the cover of i.D magazine's September issue. The iconic photo features all four girls with corset-inspired tops, figure-hugging skirts, matching black gloves and shimmery makeup. It was shot in London by Emma Summerton and styled by i-D fashion director Edward Enninful. Besides featuring four of the hottest models of the moment in one sitting, this issue is distinctive for yet another reason: It is the only non-urban magazine to opt for women of color on its September cover. Wearable Neon Makeup Shades, No Rave Required

While we've thankfully moved past that '90s flashback of fluorescent clothing and accessories, it's important to note that neons haven't been banished from the planet for good -- they've just relocated to the beauty department! I know, the idea sounds terrifying, but used with the right shades and a subtle hand, bright pops of color are an emerging makeup trend that's making feminine features stand out in a feisty, fresh and modern way. While trying to shed her goody-goody Gossip Girl stereotype and make a name for herself as her punk band's frontwoman, Taylor Momsen has been spotted flaunting neon lips and smoky eyes -- but you don't have to be a rock goddess in training to pull it off. Sticking to one feature at a time, you can go with an electric blue eyeliner to make your peepers pop, or highlight your summer tan with contrasting tangerine nails, for example. Take a look at the slideshow for some wearable neon shades!

Hot In The Hive: Thermos-Minis by Crea Crea And Crescioni Vanina!

You almost wouldn't expect something so whimsically designed and sweetly packaged from the seriously sophisticated and cynically chic French! Just to prove that they are always unpredictable and one-step ahead, French designers Crea Crea and Crescioni Vanina are introducing Thermos-minis! These cute little drink containers are the baby-siblings of the huge, heavy, stainless steel versions that my dad lugs around in order to save money on coffee. They are obviously smaller, but still hold enough that you won't be left wanting more caffeine after drinking the last drops. These Thermos-minis hold about 8 oz of whatever drink you want... hot, cold, or spiked (just kidding). Besides keeping a good temperature on your drinks (because if it didn't, it wouldn't be a Thermos), these Thermos-minis also come in an array of fun and colorful designs and patterns. Personalize your morning pick-me-up by choosing anything from Asian-inspired floral patterns to multi-colored dots and shapes! There's even ones that resemble a tiny man or an umbrella toting frog! All the designs are different, but all are whimsical, care-free and full of bright color. Their size allows you to pop them into a purse or tote, or to throw into the backseat of a car. No more cookie-cutter, silver steel thermoses that need their own carrier just to transport them around!

    Price: $38.00
Who Found It: idabone was first to add the Plyones - THERMOS-MINI to the Hive.
