Make A Bold Statement With Colorblock Home Decor

The colorblock craze is one that I like very much. There is nothing more sophisticated than that classic combo of black and white. Bright, solid hues matched with black or each other make for an eye-catching and fashionable ensemble. It's such an easy and appealing way to add interest and color, it's a wonder that it hasn't caught on in home decor as well. Be a trend-setter and apply this tried and true style statement to your home. You can choose a few of your favorite colors and use them in a number of accents. Throw pillows and rugs are an easy way to go and make boring rooms more colorful and energetic. Items like placemats and shower curtains are also fun and easy ways to spruce up your living space and give your home a harmonious theme without having to spend too much! Jonathan Saunders For Target Is Almost Here!

Well Target, or "Tarjay" as I like to call it, has done it once again with their latest GO International collection. This time around they've joined efforts with British designer Jonathan Saunders to create their Fall '08 line of cheap (read, reasonably priced) and chic clothing for that funky fashionista with a minimum wage wallet. In true Saunders style, the collection was infused with vibrant colors against a black canvas of flattering silhouettes, including shift dresses, slim-cut pants, and various skirt styles. The influence of artists such as Gustav Klimt, Piet Mondrian, Jackson Pollock, and Mark Rothko runs throughout the collection with prominent themes of dot prints, color blocks, marble prints, and ombre dyes. The collection hits Target stores nationwide October 5 (although I hear some pieces are already popping up here and there!) and runs through November 1, so get them while they last! Check out my SLIDESHOW of favorite looks from Jonathan Saunders for Target!

Have you ever wanted to be an artist? Or at least look like one? Be a walking piece of art with Piet Mondrian-inspired fashions this fall! Ditch your easel and paint brushes and leave your floral, paisley, and plaid prints hanging in the closet and pick up the latest look--color blocks in every hue! Yves Saint Laurent did it first in 1965 with his classic Mondrian Shift Dress, but now, over forty years later, this look is spicing up the runways and filling up the racks in every department store. From dresses, skirts, tops, even down to your shoes, color block fashions are everywhere this fall. Get your color block fix in my slideshow!

Fashion Poll: What Should I Wear To My Vegas Bachelorette Party?

    image

In a couple weeks I will be embarking for a bachelorette weekend in none-other-than, Las Vegas, Nevada. As excited as I am to visit the famed hot spot (it will be my first time!), I'm already fretting about what to pack. This may be my maiden voyage to Vegas, but I want to look well-versed in Sin City style. I have long been inspired by the city: its brilliant neon lights, the sequined outfits of showgirls, the glowing casino games, and most of all, the anything goes attitude. In terms of what to bring for nights out on the town, I'm envisioning dresses that are just dripping with glamour yet still young and fun. Sparkles and sequins, luxe animal prints, eye-catching metallics, and maybe even a few neons. But how can I channel the over-the-top Sin City glitz and glam without looking like a flop? Well my fellow Stylehivers, this is where you come in.. I want to save my gambling spirit for the casino floor and not risk it while preparing for this trip. So I've created a poll with 3 possible Vegas looks - vote for your favorite right now! I can't wait to see which look wins!
