Hats That Won't Mess Up Your Hairstyle!

Mom used to say that most of your body's heat escapes through your head. And although technically, this isn't true, any surface left uncovered in frigid temperatures is not a good idea! And if your next excuse is "it will mess up my hair," quit your whining because I've test-driven a few styles that will up your fashion ante and keep your hair coiffed. The key is to pick something with some structure, that also covers your ears. I'm a big believer that headbands do not fulfill the same warmth prophecy. My favorite style this season is something similar to the Modern Girl Slouchy Cap from etsy's Raimbo Tree. Cozy and comfortable! I also love the more 1920's inspired look of BoringSidney's Barbed Wire Cross Cloche, for a more vintage girl-about-town look. Check out my SLIDESHOW for hat options that won't make your hair-do a hair don't!

Comfortable And Cozy Cardigans Fit For Every Budget

After living in places with various climates ranging from extreme heat to chilly tundras, I've become a master at layering my clothes that can suit a freezing morning hike to an afternoon by the fireplace. Cardigans are one of my favorite options for layering my clothes because they look good with most dressy or casual tops and they come in a wide range of prices too. A bright pink cardigan from See by Chloe may be just what the doctor ordered for overcoming those winter blues. Go ahead and snag a boyfriend cardigan for that oversized look, but fitted just for you. Click the SLIDESHOW for more cardigans that will get you through the winter chills.

Looking Hot For Cold Weather Sports!

Besides building a snowman, the best part of living in a snowy climate is being able to escape to the mountains to ski (or snowboard, if that's your bag, baby). There's nothing quite like the crisp, thin air and the explanation of windburn to your friends who think you went to a much hotter climate for the day. In addition the activity itself, winter sports also have the added benefit of really cute fashions. Ralph Lauren's Elevation Jacket and Pants could turn any fashionista into a skiier. What's more important is that this gear is truly functional and will keep you comfortable in blizzard conditions. Check out my SLIDESHOW for lots of cute skiing and snowboarding outfits!

    Practical And Adorable Fingerless Gloves!

Cute and functional aren't found in the same package nearly enough, am I right? All too often it feels like we're forced to choose between the two! That's why I'm so excited that fingerless gloves are finally being considered a style statement beyond that of 'hobo' (not boho, hobo). Mittens and gloves are adorable in their own right, but soon enough we all need use of our fingertips, if only for the purpose of adjusting the volume on our iPods. And who wants to be pulling on gloves and taking them off all the time? Designers from those on Etsy to fashion favorite 3.1 Phillip Lim seem to agree because the knit wonders are popping up everywhere! Check out WhatsWear's review of this trend by clicking here, and click on the slideshow for our favorite fingerless gloves!

    Beanies For The Boys

I shave my head every two weeks, so with the winter season coming into full swing, you know I am always looking for something to keep my head of stubble warm. Like a baby, I have my favorite security beanie. Even though it is on its last leg, I refuse to get rid of the reversible (it's black on one side and argyle on the other) head warmer. But alas, I think it may be time for me (and you) to invest in a nice beanie. Sure, a solid colored one is safe, but why not go for something a little bit more adventurous? A chunky knit beanie lets off a "just like grandma used to make" vibe, while a head-hugging knit cap with an oversized logo is street-chic and whimsical. No matter you decide, pick one that is not only versatile, but matches your personality. P.S. €“ Check out the Humping Moose Peruvian Beanie from Urban Outfitters €“ that's for all you shameless freaky people out there.
