Coffee table books are great decor accents for any home and have a multitude of purposes. They can also be bought as gifts for your hard to shop for friends or stacked on your coffee table to entertain (or distract) guests while you repair that burnt meal you just pulled out of the oven. Books are a common holiday gift, but sometimes they can be bo-ring! A book meant for public display should have bold illustrations and interesting subject matter your guests aren't likely to see just anywhere. We've gathered together a collection of books that we think would make great alternatives to the typical coffee table book (though there are a couple you might want to move to the bedroom if grandma is coming over).
From fun graphic children's books to an artfully packaged edition of classic playboy centerfolds, we've included something to suit everyone's taste-- art snobs, comic book nerds, little sisters, crafty aunts, and kinky friends alike. Check out our slideshow of 10 unusual coffee table books, and encourage your loved ones' literacy this holiday season!
