Magazine. "There's nothing scarier than making fashion - or anything else, for that matter - that everyone agrees on." Unlike so many of his big-name peers on the luxury conglomerate payroll, Hourani makes gender-blind clothing ("for people who do not define themselves primarily as men or women") that are independent even of the seasons, fashion or otherwise. "Fashion is about clothes transcending simple functionality and gaining symbolic, evocative power by engaging in a dialogue with their environment and time." The result is flowing bohemian maxidresses, sequin details on tunics, and to-die-for home decor in damask. My personal favorite is the Day Sux Dress, with its cotton jersey draping juxtaposed with sequins and broach detailing at the top.
