Small Space Storage Solutions For The Closet-less Fashionista

    image

Lately I've been looking at apartments with some friends who are looking to move to a new place. While many have spacious kitchens, lots of windows, and large bedrooms, I've found that some have tiny closets or no closet at all! I'm certainly not a fan of using the hallway closet to hold all of my clothes along with the vacuum cleaner, but there are definitely options that can keep your clothes safely in your room. If you have a small closet, keep all your dresses, shirts, and pants inside the closet. Then make the most of your free wall space by adding something like the Fleur-De-Lys Hook Rack to hang your jackets and coats. For larger storage solutions for the closet-less, go for an armoire like this bamboo wardrobe (cute dog not included). An armoire may seem like a fortune to spend, but if you get a quality piece you love, you'll keep it forever. Lastly, for the minimalist (in style and budget), a simple rolling rack may do just fine for less than $20. Take a peek at my slideshow to see it all!

Make The Most Of Your Closet Space!

Luckily my apartment came with two closets, because I'll tell you one thing about living with a guy-- they're messy. And the closet is the worst. What I've discovered after having my own closet at my disposal over the past two months was something that surprised me: I, in fact, am a bit messy as well. My well-organized shoes rack turned out to be too much of a hassle, and I've started just dumping my shoes into any old spot in the closet as soon as I get home. My special skirt hangers have become more decoration than anything else, because they are over-crowded and shoved somewhere in the back half of the closet where it's tough to reach. Something had to change. So I did a little research. I chose an over-the-door shoe rack which saves floor space and discourages me from throwing my stuff on the floor. I got a great revolving belt hanger that doubles as a tie rack, and some hanging shelf organizers took care of the stray winter clothes and I don't wear during the summer, but don't have room to store. Now maybe I can get around to doing the same thing for the hall closet€¦

Stylediary Spotlight: Lookbooks That Are as Much About Art as ...

Stylediarist Tootly is a force to be reckoned with. Not only does this 24-year-old New Yorker mix vintage and contemporary designs like nobody's business, but she also has a diary display like NO ONE ELSE. I adore how boring, repetitive white walls and closet backgrounds are replaced by photoshopped images of maps, graffiti, giraffes and the likes of Peter Rabbit. Her profile states that "photoshop takes [her] to places [she's] never been before," and it certainly does. The images complement the outfits, and the fusion definitely increases each looks points of inspiration. With a style that is defined but still limitless, Stylediarist Tootly is definitely one of the site's premier users! Check out my SLIDESHOW to see the looks that I think shouldn't be missed.

Stylediary Spotlight: Jewels Makes Her Basics Shine

Stylediarist Jewels knows that basics don't look so dull when they're paired correctly. Dressing almost solely in subdued solids, she creates interest by layering and mixing fabric weights and textures. With this knowledge, all of her looks appear styled, effortless and chic. This New Yorker's subtlety allows her to incorporate trends without having her outfits scream to every passerby, "Look at me I'm fashionable!" No two outfits look identical, but this girl certainly has a cemented style; one that if it works for you, could be easy to achieve with a lot of what's already in your closet. To see my favorite looks and gain inspiration check out the SLIDESHOW, and click here to check out Jewels' StyleDiary.
